Try it on another computer. Even try using a different USB cable with it. Verify first that it is the drive that has failed.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your luck with their support. The message you're getting means the driver for the enclosure can't load. As it is happening on multiple pc's a suspect the enclosure circuitry is faulty.

Take the drive to your local PC store and ask the techs there to mount the Hard drive in a new enclosure($20-$40) then have them test it to see if it works. If it does buy the enclosure and you're done. If it also doesn't work in the new enclosure then you will likely need the help of a pro to get your files back. If that's the case, reply back with your Country, State and City and I will point you in the direction of an appropriate pro.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

Simpletech Signature 500gb "is not accessible"

Right click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE.

Go to DEVICE MANAGER and expand the DISK DRIVES category on the right side window.

You should see the Simpletech drive listed under there. Delete the Simpletech drive and click on OK. Restart the computer.

Windows should re-detect the simpletech and re-install the built in drivers automatically.

SimpleTech not reconize by my computer.

hi there,

i will pass on what was given to me for information. if you are still getting power to the drive you can remove the external casing, remove your pc side panel, where you would insert memory and plug the hard drive into the tape inside your pc to see if the pc will recognize the hard drive. if you are not getting any power or platters spinning then it is more serious. i wish you all the best. cherie

PLEASE HELP

It is just like any other disc drive. You can set up folders to store your music. You can store music, files, videos, whatever you'd like.
It should be assigned a drive letter like d: e: or f: You can simply copy your music files to it.

Be more specific as to to how you are trying to use the Simpletech drive to store music.
