When i test print all colours show apart from black ink on paper?

If deep cleaning does not clear the black print head then a new print head is required. The cost of print head is expensive and it maybe better to buy a new printer.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I had an HP printer which gave out my daughter got me a canon. There are no instructions on how to fill the cartrage.

Go to any store that sells "printer ink refill" kits.
They will be glad to give you instructions.

Or, if you just need to remove the ink-cartridges:
* turn the printer on
* lift the lid that covers the print-head
* wait 10 seconds, for the print-head to slide to some position
* push down on the HP ink-cartridge to "unlock" it from its socket
* lift it out of the socket
* get it professionally refilled, or buy a replacement

I am having trouble printing I just brought all new ink, replaced old with new and only dark blue is printing

Sounds like your print heads are clogged. Try running the maintenance to clean the print heads, that should get you working. If that doesn't work, well i hate to tell you this, but the print heads are not replaceable by an end user. Meaning to get new ones you will have to find them on-line or find an authorized hp repair shop willing to sell you them. In any case, unless you have loads of free time, you are better off buying a new printer.

If the maintenance cycle does not work, and you would like to try taking your printer apart, please let me know and i will help you get it apart so you can try unclogging the heads yourself. If you haven't taken one of these apart before please be ready to spend up to 12 hours (if your mechanical aptitude is, er, low...) taking it apart and putting it together.

If you already took the printer apart, check the socket where you connect the printer to power, check that the connector soldering joints and contacts are not broke.

The circuit area near the AC adapter socket on the printer is the power board.
If there is a fuse check it.
If there is smell or trace of burnt, that means that a component, usually a capacitor, had blown.

If you do not find anything it must be the AC adapter terminal cable, or the connector , that has a broken contact.

To test it you need to get a multimeter and measure voltage from the AC adapter connector. Alternatively take the printer to a repair shop , tell them that you want to buy a power adapter for your printer, and ask to test a spare power adapter first. Many shops do not charge repair fee for this, as long as it can be done on the fly, and printer must not be left in for repairs.
