Plug into your USB port for 4 hours, that will charge it up a treat.

Download handbook from apple support.

I just purchased an ipod, how do I set it up?

The first thing to do would be to download itunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and install it on your computer. Once installed plug in your ipod to using the supplied usb cable. You will be able to charge your ipod and update the software on your ipod. Once it is fully charged you can use itunes to transfer music onto it. As there are so many things you can do on your ipod you should download a manual from http://support.apple.com/manuals/

SoundDock won't charge newer iPod versions

Unfortunately there is no real fix for this. Apple changed the charging from USB to Firewire, so the old charging methods don't work anymore. I purchased an adapter somewhere on the internet that worked with some devices and not with others, but I can't remember where I got it from.
You will either have to wait for apple to change it, or bose to find a work around, or get a new unit.

Flashing icons while charging... am I really charging?

If the iPod is showing the "Sad iPod face" icon, this means that the hard drive inside the iPod (located on the logic/circuit board) has died/failed and needs to be replaced. If you plan on replacing this part, you may also need to purchase and solder a new battery to the iPod logic board if you were to do it yourself.

New i/pod for xmas, charged it up but no instructions how to load

Just visit http://www.apple.com/itunes and download iTunes. When you run iTunes and have your iPod plugged-in, you will see your iPod in the left window pane of iTunes. You can drag your music from folders on your computer, and drop it on the icon of your iPod. You can also use the library in iTunes to manage your music, but I have always preferred dragging directly on the iPod as I mentioned above.

80GB video ipod is not turning on.instead the apple symbol blinks

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge just enough so that it can sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.

Ipod won't charge

The easiest thing to do to solve this is to reset the iPod. Apple has a small resetting program especially for this type of ipod. The program is free and downloadable from apple.com. Try this url:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1238?locale=nl_NL
If that url doesn't work, go to Apple.com, click support and choose iPod and search for reset utility to look for the download link. And if that doesn't work let me know and I'll send the program to you by e-mail.
O, the reset will erase all your music/data on the iPod.

It should still be under warranty. Take it back to apple and let them replace it for you.
