- My Sony DVD player RDR-GX210 has just packed in with the same problem. It certainly appears to me that Sony seem incapable of making DVD players. I have always bought Sony products but not any more! This was an expensive machine when bought new but has been used very little as I have Sky Plus. - john62754Dec 30, 2008

- My Sony DVD player DVP-NS57P has been playing the same DVD for some time with no problem. Now however, when inserted it says "loading" which stays there for many minutes and then finally says "this cannot be played. - Hooled up DVD to televsion and got a message on the screen of the front of the DVD saying Cannot Play.I have cable TV. A cable box is also hooked up to the television.- mariangillis

I have just last night rented "Live Free or Die Hard" and for the very first time on my 2-year-old Sony DVP-NS575P DVD player encountered this problem ("Cannot play this disc"). It did not provide any other explanation. I tried cleaning the rental DVD but the problem persisted. I looked at the rental DVD with a magnifying glass (to check for small cracks) but could not see any physical defects. I tried some of the DVD titles in my own personal collection but they played fine. So it just seems to be a problem with this particular disc. I'll see if I can get another disc of the same title and make the second one work.

Having the same problem was working fine then stopped and started saying cannot play it does this for all 400 discs! HELP

Sony DVP-CX995V Was working fine then all of a sudden it says cannot
play disc. Any Disc.after trying to read the disc it cycles to the next
disc and says the same thing. Is there a solution........Thank You -

takes a long time to load and then says no disc machine vibrates loud and we have unplugged it and tried again with no luck have only had it for a little less than a year
