Cannot get connection to wireless router from xbox live console

I do just want to check, you are using a wireless adapter, correct? I don't mean to sound condescending at all, but there are many people who think that the Xbox 360 natively can connect to wireless networks when it, in fact, can not.
The above is assuming that you are using a generation 1 Xbox 360 like you have pictured. Some of the newer models do have native wi-fi capabilities.

Assuming you do have a wireless adapter, or that you are using a new Xbox, the best thing to do from here is to check your settings in your system menu and make sure everything is correct for the router you are using. The best place to look for help for this is the Xbox customer support page for wi-fi connections, which can be found here:

How do you activate nintendo wi-fi connection

The DS Lite doesn't have built in Wi-Fi. Some games have Wi-Fi built into them, and they have to be activated from within the game itself.

The DSi and newer have built in Wi-Fi. has a guide on how to activate it on them.

Good luck,

I have the Xbox 360 with built in Wi-Fi. When I try to set up Xbox Live all the networks are locked. There is one network that isn't locked but it wont connect. PLEASE HELP!

You need to have a wifi connexion at home that you can connect to. You will need the wep or wpa key ( a protection code for your network) that was programmed in your router so that you can connect to the network. If you do not have a router or a wireless connection at home, you can only connect with a network cable.

Where do you find the WEP key

A WEP key is a security code used on some Wi-Fi and home networks. The WEP key is configured during the initial set up of the wireless router. If you have forgotten your WEP or SSID then consult the manufactures web site for instructions on resetting it.
Typically the fastest way to reset the router to the manufactures defaults is to press the hard reset button on the router.

I hope the info listed above has helped in some way.
If possible please rate this solution.

Cant connect wii to internet

The unit can connect to the Internet by utilizing its 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, which is built in, for wireless connections or via a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor for DSL connections.
For your wireless connection or Wi-Fi, the 802.11b Wi-Fi has a data rate of 11 Mbits per second and has an indoor range of 30m or approximately 98 ft. The 802.11g has the same indoor range, however the data rate is at 54 Mbits per second. If you have an existing wireless connection or are in a Wi-Fi hotspot, the unit will connect to your wireless connection automatically out of the box. If you do not have a wireless network, however, you will need to have your wireless network subscription done or set-up first. Once you have wireless Internet access, you then search for your access point, put in your security settings and you’re good to go. It would also be advisable to have a wireless router for this so that you won’t have to shuttle the connection between your PC and your Wii. wi-fi-usb-connector.thumbnail.jpgAnother option would be to connect your Wii via the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. This accessory allows Nintendo Wii users who do not have an existing Wi-Fi connection or a compatible Wi-Fi network to create one through their broadband or DSL connected computer. This is inserted into your existing computer’s USB port and the Wi-Fi USB Connector acts as a wireless access point for the Wii. This allows the user access to the internet and to play Wi-Fi Connection games from Nintendo Online.
nintendo-wii-lan-adapter.thumbnail.jpgFor your DSL connection, however, you will need to have quite a few things. You can use a WII LAN adapter to connect your Wii to your DSL modem. You can also use a router so that you can use your PC and your Wii at the same time. With the LAN Adapter though, to use or plug in the Wii, you must disconnect your PC. This can be quite tedious since you will have to plug in and out your PC and your Wii every time you need to use one or the other. A LAN Adapter is fairly cheap, but if you get a router, your PC and your Wii can go online at the same time, saving you the hassle of connecting one or the other when you need them. You can then hook up the existing ethernet cords to the back of the router and connect it to the Wii via a USB 2.0 cord.

i hope this helps

Have just purchased newe 360 elite black need WPA to connect where do I find this number

Your WPA code is the code you enter to use a wireless router (Wi-Fi Protected Access), it can be found by asking who ever set up your router, but if its you, look on the bottom of the router, their should be a login code and password to use on your web browser to get up your routers informtion, usually you type in in you browers and username password are normaly admin and password, hope this helps.

Ps3 bluetooth connection

I think you are mixing up two different technologies. You said you have recently bought a Wireless Router and when you try scanning for Bluetooth devices you can't find it?

First of all, Bluetooth isn't Wi-Fi. You should go to Network Settings under Settings in the XMB and choose for a Wireless Connection and then let it scan.

Be sure you don't have a 40 GB PlayStation 3 since they don't have Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps. Please rate.
