Re: error code 000002 on cannon image runner
You have to get into service mode and clear the code. First, press the aditional funcation botton on the control pannel then the numbers 2 & 8 at the same time then press the aditional funcation key again. The diplay should change. Press the copier box and the at the top in the middle of the display " Funcation" the display changes again, then in the 2nd colum about half way down you will see "Clr" touch that box and then at the bottom right of the display touch the " OK" box then turn the main power switch off then back on and that should solve the problem. You may have a bad power problem with the wall outlet if it is not the right voltage, it will play havice with the copier. Good Luck

This code is for a damaged fixing film on the unit.
You can just replace the fix film assembly FG6-6039-00R, they have refurbished ones avail. Also, replace the cleaning roller assembly FG6-5709 or just the cleaning roller on that assembly called a fixing heat sink roller FB5-4931-000 if you are brave enough (notice the name heat sink). If that roller gets any build up on it, say from using the wrong type of transparency (use Canon E type only), it can no longer remove heat from the fix film assembly.
The error indicates the abnormal rotation of the fixing film. Mostly the film tear off at fixing film assembly. The film may be replaced at less cost as 3rd party service or the fixing film assy. replaced as geuine spare.
The other problem may happen, as rotation sensor failure or DC-CON pcb. but these are very rare.
It's a problem with the fixing film in the fuser assembly. The fixing film shredded and needs to be replaced.
Since part of it is probably gone, the length between the 2 plastic end caps.
This could get involved. Two Youtube presentations are below. Maybe one of them shows how to replace the film. They appear to be for dis-assembly and removal of the fuser unit. The source of fixing film has a nice picture of what needs actual replacement.
You don't want to get cut, shocked, or covered in ink while doing this. Sadly, this is where a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. A Cannon tech or your printer support would be well versed in doing what needs to be done.
on the control panel press:
should appear ins screen "#sssw"
search with the left arrow until "CLEAR" appear on screen
search with the left arrow until "ENGINE" appear on screen
the screen displays: ERRCLR press ok again
turn off the machine from the main switch (located on the left side of the machine) for 5 seconds
turn back on the machine and try to make some copies
if problem persist replace fixing film assembly
The main thermistor (TH1) has poor contact or open circuit. The thermal switch (TP1) has open circuit. The SSR is faulty. the DC controller is faulty.
The temperature of the fixing roller does not reach 100C with 2 min after it has exceeded 70C.
is there an error code appear on panel display? if there a error appear try to reset you may press * key, press 2&8 simultaneously, the select copier then select fuction then clear then error then ok then turn off& on
E002/E000/E003/E261/E733 Error code: Due to AC line noise Error Code
E002/E000/E003/E261/E733: due to AC line noise.
E002/E000/E003/E261/E733 occur due to AC line noise. If the above error codes are frequently recorded in the error log, they might concern AC line noise.
When the machine tries to detect a Zero-cross signal of AC line, it will fail if a noise occurred around the zero-cross point. Since the fixing temperature is controlled based on the zero-cross signal, there is a possibility that the fixing temperature could not rise properly if a noise occurs several times.
Replace the Switching Regulator PCB ***'y with a new one. 120V: FH3-2613 220V/240V: FH3-2614 The circuit has been modified to resist a noise.
Caution Press (* then 2 and 8 together then *)you are in service mode monitor:To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR.
