You should be able to install the hard drive to your new computer. And what happened to the old computer? Did your hard drive fail? You can take the hard drive out of it and change the pins to slave cylinder and hook it up to another computer and get the files off of it. You can even run scandisk on it and sometimes fix it enough to retrieve the files you want. then just copy them to your new one. If the hookups are different than new one, you might have to find a friend that has an old one like it.

The 5v power pin on the AC adapter of my SmartDisk Crossfire external hard drive has been broken. How do I get a replacement AC Adapter?

Take your SmartDisk to any computer-store.

They can open the case, remove the disk-drive,
and mount the disk-drive in a new "empty" external casing,
with a new power-supply.
See: http://www.canadaram.com/3_5_sata_enclosures.htm
for a sample of various "empty" cases, for about $30.

I have a hard drive with all my pictures on it and my computer not reading the hard drive when it plug in how can i send it in to get it fix it a smartdisk 160gb

Always try the simple first- connect the drive to a different computer, then if that does not work, try a new cable to the old computer then to the different computer. If still No Go, many local big box retail stores like Best Buy have a computer repair desk. Be prepared for $$ charge, however.

SmartDisk Digital Photo Bank Model#PB40

No, the problem isn't solved. I paid the $19.95 for your "premium assistance" which consisted of telling me about the SmartDisk warranty and advising me to contact the company. As my "problem" points out, "been there, done that." No response from the company. Your technician just went to the company's web site and read it to me. I had already done that, too. If your "technician" could have advised me about how to fix the device, or even how to get the company to respond, he would have been worth the $19.95. He couldn't and didn't. Needless to say, I'm still p1ssed off and $19.95 poorer.
