Hi! I upgraded from 10.4 to 10.5 and now my device is not longer recognized bye the Eye Tv 1.8 program although in the System Profile it is listed. I tried the support webpages directly from El gato and many other websites but I have not been able to find the driver yet. I lost the original installation cd. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me. Best regards

Hi. Most likely, the problem is simple. I'm betting that you just need to get a splitter that will handle that much bandwidth say 2ghz or higher. Alot of splitters only go to 1000 mhz, and that just isn't good enough anymore, 2 ghz is better, 5 ghz better still, if you can find one. Maybe at BestBuy, or Fry's they might have one, they seem to have most every part needed for splitting cable signals.
To bad, people do not know the meaning of compatible, Elgato's eyetv one is windows compatible but does not work with XP or Vista. So it written for WINDOWS 7 only. Is there a driver for Windows XP?
If you have just one Audio Out RCA jack then the camcorder only recorded in MONO, so all you would need to do is either plug the wire coming from your single Audio Out jack into the left or white input jack of your Capture Device which may have an option in the software program to set it to recieve audio in MONO, or you can buy a RCA Jack Splitter that goes from a single Female RCA jack on one end and 2 Male RCA Jacks on the other end. Then you take the end of the Splitter with 2 plugs and plug one of them into the White Jack and the other into the Red Jack on your Capture Device, and the other end with just one plug should plug into the cord coming from the Black Jack on your Camcorder.
Make sure you have downloaded and installed the Windows 7 driver for your hardware. Without the new driver your system will not function properly. Driver should be available from the hardware manufacturers website. Hope this helps.
You may check Device Manager first to check if your TV tuner is still properly installed or still detected by your computer. For Windows XP - Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager and check if the TV tuner is still there.
If you cannot see the TV tuner under Device Manager , unplug then replug your tuner and see if something will pop up under "Other Devices" (still under Device Manager). If it does, then you need to right click it and reinstall the driver. You can just download the driver/software over the net.
Now, if your computer does not detect it at all try another PC to test if the problem is with your PC or just the tuner.
Interesting...My EyeTv hybrid was working fine for over the air transmissions until I hook it into a new Sat system. It's now saying" No EyeTV Hybrid devices connected" I connected to my Laptop and it worked fine. I'm looking for a solution now to corrected the problem. In the meantime try disconnection and maybe some patient restart. I downlaod the latest software 2.5.2. But still no solution yet
Hi, the real problem here is VISTA, despite Microsofts hoopla this program is not as good as faithful old XP. The driver base is almost empty and a whole host of software and hardware just will not work with it. I reccomend you go back to XP until Microsoft releases a service pack with driver updates and then upgrade to VISTA.
