Not sewing - jamming

I've made three pairs of pants for my daughters dance team and while I was sewing the machine jammed. All of the upper thread was stuck in where the bobbin thread comes out of and then the needle broke off. I replaced the needle and rethreaded and checked the bobbin and tension and even tried another fabric but it keeps jamming! The machine is only one week old and I still have 20 more pairs of pants with matching tops to finish this week! HELP!!!!

Whenever I start to sew the needle stops going through the material. When I take the needle up and pull the fabric out the thread on the underside of the material is completely bunched up and in long loops. I've taken the bobbin out and cleaned the bobbin casing, but this still keeps happening. I've also adjusted the tension. NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP!

I keep coming back to my sewing machine after walking away for a week or two. Each time, I have high hopes that it will be magically fixed. I have reloaded a million times hoping that I was missing a step. My problem is the same as another poster - I get a few stitches going and then it jams, bends or breaks the needle and the thread tangles below. I am frustrated!

Could it be that the feed dogs are down? I also have the 15358 and when I opened the bobbin area to clean it, I had this problem. Apparently, when you open the clips around the outside of the casing, it pushes the lever that adjusts the feed dogs to the right (lowering them). I didn't even realize it at first. Check your manual for adjusting this lever to raise the feed dogs. That might solve your problem.

Thank you! I actually fixed the problem by changing my needle and the bobbin. I think when I changed the needle initially I put it in wrong and it was dull. I had also changed bobbins and I think I had the wrong size. So I bought the correct bobbins and new needles. This seemed to correct the problem.

2. it's possible that the bobbin case is worn & needs to be replaced
3.also check your top tension
4. try rethreading the machine top thread & bobbin

I was sewing, turned the machine off to pin something, and when I turned it back on, it jammed in the bobbin area. It will only stitch one stitch and then jams. I have taken it apart over 30 times, and...

have you tried changing the needle-
1.the needle may be bent or damaged--try rolling the needle on a flat surface to see if it's bent or not
Correct needle insertion
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine or if using a round needle--the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
2.upper tension may be to tight--try 3 to 5
3.thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint
???
check the thread take up lever-if the thread come off the thread take up lever that will jam the machine up--I've had it happen to me

Sewing machine is jamming

The UPPER thread is not threaded through the machine correctly.

Keeps getting jammed

Hello,
Give these solutions a try.

* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin as there could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.

* When you start to sew a seam, Hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting jammed in your machine.

I hope this helps.

Machine is jamming

You need to remove the bobbin from the "race" by following the instructions in the manual. Give it a good clean and remove any bits of fluff and thread. Remove the upper thread also andmake sure that the tension wheel is clear of any broken threads and is on the correct setting. It may have been threaded wrong. The hand wheel not turning sounds like the bobbin area is jammed also.

Thread is caught in the hook...Remove the upper thread and bobbin case...turn the hand wheel backwards and forwards by hand and remove the thread remands. Good Luck
