I was working on the internet one day & handed my laptop to a friend next to me as I stood up from the couch. When I did, the screen went away and was replaced by thick verticle lines. The only thing I could do was reboot the system to get it to come back on. After rebooting, everything seemed to be working fine; until I tried to go back online. The modem tries to connect but I get a no dial tone error. I live way too far out of town for wireless so, I'm not sure if it will connect any other way than dial up.

Re: Compaq V2615 dial up connection
Plz check your phone line. then u scan your pc for anti-viruse and anti-malware in safe mode. then uninstall the modem drivers and modem through safe mode. Reinstall the modem drivers if still u cannot connect then your modem may be out of order.try a new one.Still problem persist than u check it with your service provider n tell them to check for the data part of your phone line

Some of these laptops have a built in webcam however it was an option so you may or may not have it. If you do have it then you will have a small round lens at the middle top of the monitor. If you see that then it should be pre-installed and in your programs list should be some software for it. If not then you will need and external webcam which you can but for fairly cheap at most computer stores. As far as it working with the phone jack i am not sure what you are asking. If youre asking if it will work over the internet while connected via dial up then most likely no. The amount of data needed for a webcam is more then dial up internet can handle. It will however work with a high speed connection to the internet.
If you want to connect your pc/laptop with a dial-up connection you need to make a dial up connection but you didn't mention your operating system. But no problem just go to control panel and there you find network connections in it you notice a create a new connection then new wizard will open press next then select which ever connection you want make then it ask how to connect to internet in it choose set up connection manually press next then choose appropriate option then its done. Your connection is just made up try to connect and you internet will start working.
If you have a router on your broadband, you need a RJ45 network cable - right next to the modem port on your laptop is a network port - this will use the correct cables you need to connect to your router.
If you don't have a router but only a broadband modem, just connect it to the USB port on your laptop, install the software and you should be good to go.
