    Model# PDS22MFBBB

    Serial# DLO47501

My problem was not answered. I have a GE fridge, model#PDS22MFBBB : serial# DLO47501 I have an ice maker, not an on the door dispenser.

My problem, the contols for keeping the freezer and refridgerator at the correct temperatures will not light. This means I do not know what the temperature of either part of the fridge. Also, the ice maker does not dispense the correct amount of ice.

The model I have is one that has the freezer compartment on the bottom. Would this problem be happening because I need to replace the water filter? I have looked at the troubleshooting pages in the manuel many times. I cannot find an answer.

    Thank You, Catherine Dooley

If the display does not work is not because of the water filter needs to be change.

There are 2 possibilities to pin point the problem:

    1. The main controller board might be defective and not providing the right voltage to the display board assembly.

    2. If the main controller board is providing the right voltage then you have defective display board.

I will try to find a service manual for you.

How do I replace my freezer light

An owners manual I found online says:
  1. Pinch rear tabs on light cover and pull straight down.
  2. Remove light bulb.
  3. Replace bulb with appliance bulb no greater than 40 watts.
  4. Insert front tabs of light cover into freezer liner and snap rear portion over light assembly until rear tabs engage.
The manual illustrates the bulb is behind a plastic grille right by the temperature control knob.

Changing the light bulb on display control panel

The bulb is located behind the panel under the light cover and this unit takes four bulbs to light up the refer section. The bulb you seek is directly behind the display and computer unit mounted to the celling of the refer section.

Good Luck

Sub Zero 650/s control board light is out and inside lights out but fridge works.

On this model, the lights work with the light switch, if it stick all the light in that section will not work. Parts number 7014646 (about 20 bucks) If only the control display is not illuminated then the bulb behind the control is the only problem.

I hope this helps.

The fridge light flickers and makes a strange knocking noise when screwed in. I put in a new light hoping that would help, but it didn't work. The mechanism which displays the freezer and fridge setting...

I suspect the main control down by the compressor may be faulty. Without a model number I can't give you specific information, but these controls have a pretty high failure rate. The "knocking" you describe is likely the relay(s) chattering. The board controls every function on the refrigerator, including the turning on of the lights. Have someone screw the bulb in while you are behind the refrig listening down by the compressor area. The control is mounted to the LH side of the compressor in a plastic case.

Mid-level light (behind temp control) is out. Bulbs are ok, other lights work.

Are you referring to the interior light for the fridge, or the light that illuminates the temp control section? Are you trying to change the bulb?

Please post the make / model of your refrigerator as well.

All the lights in the freezer are working. None of the lights in the refrigerator are working. All the bulbs have been changed. Is there a fuse in the refrigerator that would make the lights go out?

In your model , the refrig section light , gets its' power from the control board . When the lights stop working , so will the light for the temp adjustment display . The control board is located behind the refrig , at the bottom , on the left side , inside a white box . It is held on by 2 screws . The part costs around $ 80.00 , and is easily replaceable .

i would alssume(knowing about this refrig) that the leectronic control board hasgone bad. the board is located behind the unit next to the compressor, inside a white housing, if you rmeove this board yull probably see a "burn" on one or more ofthe resistors, this is what controls the lighting in refrig sect, not affecting the cooling but only lights

Whirlpool refrig side by side

flickering noises??? are they working at all. or are tehy flickering on/off along with the noiise. id be willling to bet that if you removed the back panel from behind the refrig, youll find a control board mounted on the left side(when lookin at from behind) alongside the compresssor assy in a white box. if thats the case that, that there is a board there and your lights are not functioning and you hear "chattering" when the doors open you have a faulty board, look up via model number and replace it

As I mentioned previously, I had previously tried a new bulb behind the control panel and it didn't work. I tried again, but first I unplugged the refrigerator, and then installed the new bulb. And when I plugged the refrigerator back in, the light worked!

I am not sure why unplugging the refrigerator before installing the new bulb worked, but it did.
