If your trying to secure you network, then in your web browser type 192.168.1.1 (private address used by Linsys) and press enter.

It will prompt you for user name and password to access your router settings. By defult both username and password are "admin". Don't type quotes.

Once your in, you can secure you network with a password.

How To Reset Your Linksys Router Password

If you have forgotten your Linksys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings and then go through the router setup process.
  1. To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
  2. Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and go through the router setup process.
  3. To reconfigure your Linksys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.
  4. On older Linksys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin."
  5. On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."
  6. Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the Linksys router.
  7. Go to the management tab and change the administrator password to keep others from accessing your router.

How to reset password linksys

Excited for my first answer : Its very simple
  1. Enter "192.168.1.1 for web-based set-up.
  2. Default Password is "admin" and User name is blank.
  3. Click Administration tab> Management section - enter the new password and Save Settings.

Forget my password

To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of therouter with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to beconfigured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in allthe laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wirelesssettings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wirelessrouter.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default PW (write it down and putit in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

How can i find out my pssword.

The default username and password for Linksys routers are:
Username: admin Password: password
or
Username: admin Password: admin
or
Username: <no username> Password: password
If all of this fail you'll need to reset your linksys router so that it will also reset the password to the default. To reset you linksys router you can check it out on this website: http://technicallyeasy.net/2008/01/how-to-reset-linksys-wrt54g-wireless/
Note: Reseting your router means it's going to reload the factory default settings and all of the settings that you made on your router will be deleted permanently.
