You need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Whatever happened stopped after you restarted the engine, but the engine light wont go off until the ignition cycles many times without any problems. Any parts store will scan your truck for free. Have them scan it and clear the codes, and come back here and let us know what code/s you get.

If your Diagnostic Connector Port (the place under the dash where you plug in a scanner) isn't working, Replace your Cigerette Lighter Fuse! It runs that port, your cigerette lighter!

And for unknown reason, this fixed my problem with my 4x4 having a traction control... It was only limited to 2000 rpm... Dealership couldn't explain it and I sure can't either, but that was the ONLY change I made! Weird....

2006 chevy impala traction control

Reduced power is a problem with electronic throttle contol . drive by wire . Do you know what this is ? Taking the vehicle an having it hooked up to diagnostic tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes is always a first step when trying to find the root cause of any trouble light ! And not auto zone , pep boys , or advance auto parts . Thier diagnostic tool will not check codes in all system control modules .

I have a 2003 Envoy- GMC. Why does the reduce engine speed light come on

you need to scan you vehicles ECM, there is a trouble code stored there. depending on where you live most parts stores( such as a shucks/orielleys) will have a scan tool they will let you use if the vehicle is in thier parking lot. this should diagnose the issue, provided the battery hasnt been disconnected since then.

I have a 2008 chevy silverado and was going down the highway and a message came up in the odometeterENGINE POWER REDUCED! and started slowing down i pulled over and shut the engine off and started back up...

This is a 'limp home mode' and is engaged if a fault is detected that may result in damage to the engine if allowed to go unchecked. Take the vehicle to a dealer or Autozone and get a read out of the stored error codes from the on-board diagnostics module as this will help define the exact nature of the fault.

P2176=Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned
Did you use all you old sensors,or is some of them from the new engine,I would swap out the IAC sensor or check for wires not hooked up.
If it can't relearn to idle the Idle air control might be different then your old one,but its not registering with the computer

Reduced engine power

hi there my name is don i will try to help you on this
when your reduced engine light comes on that means there is a active fault code in one of the sensors that is cusing this
you will have to get it scanned or retreive the codes from the dash

once you shut it off and turn it back on it temporarly resets until the diagnostics go through it again and it will reduce the power to the engine
it could be something simple like a gas cap or tire pressure but you will have to get it scanned to find out
thanks
