Tv soundbar with a 5.1 receiver

I have a tv with attached soundbar. i use two bookshelf speakers with onkyo 507. the problem is when i hook up the receiver, the soundbar with tv does not function. tried tv sound on in the setup in onkyo, but no luck. As the soundbar is a very good one, i would like to use it, if possible as a center speaker. Is there anyway i can do it?

the tv is sharp and it comes with factory fitted sound bar, pioneer sound bar. The sharp model is LC52XS1US. There are no external connections as it is factory fitted.

The Onkyo has a center channel pre-out that you can connect the sound bar to. How does the sound bar connect to the TV? Is it two rca jacks, 1 red and 1 white or black? What brand and model is the sound bar?

How can I hook up BIC F12 subwoofer to Onkyo TX-DS838 receiver? Will the receiver power the subwoofer and other speakers?

Get a RCA cable and connect from your amp where it said Sub Woofer in the Pre Out box in the back of the amplifier top left hand side and take it to the "Sub In" located in the back of your Sub woofer bottom right hand (White round connector).
Good Luck!

My vr-507 shut down to protect my speakers but will not power up now.

Sounds like the output transistors in the amp are blown. Try powering on without speakers attached - if it still shuts off your amp is blown and needs to be repaired.

Can't get sound out of Boston soundbar when hooked up to 46" LCD Philips? Soundbar works fine when hooked directly to iPod.

You may have to go into the settings on the tv and turn off the internal speakers in order to get audio out of the jacks on back.

I tried hooking up my boston acoustic soundbar to the tv's audio inputs, but i get nothing. if i hook it up to my dish receiver i get sound, but i cant use my bluray, cause its hooked in the receiver. why...

because your tv output is not of suffieient power to drive the soundbar. The soundbar needs to be hooked up to an amplifier that is being fed by your tv line out (or earphone output)

I can't get sound from my speakers. I have a Sharp Aquos 60 inch tv. Hooked up to my Onkyo TXSR608 Receiver. I can't get any sound from the speakers.

Some Onkyo receivers have support for speakers in different rooms, or zones. Make sure your speaker is not set to send the audio signal to Zone B.

I have an onkyo tx-8255 receiver and i bought a psw-505 polk audio subwoofer to supplement my Boston acoustics cs-26 bookshelf speakers but i cannot get more than the deepest of bass to emit from the sub. ...

The problem is you are dealing with two different brands of speakers, I know because I ran into the same issues you are facing now, I had a Bose sub matched up with two Radio Shack Satellites and sound was not balanced it was awful. Finally I broke down and bought a pair of Bose Satellites and I have never regretted it since. The point I'am making is that when you mix brands the sound will be unpredictable, the problem with most subs is they have a very low roll off frequency even without the crossover making almost impossible to match speakers.

Sony HT-CT100 soundbar + STR-DG720 = Yes misery, no audio

It's not going to do whayt you want. On the premise that you can't run a dedicated receiver to a dedicated receiver. One processor is not going to override another. The soundbar is a "self contained" closed system. Much like Bose products. I understand what you are looking for, it just can't be done with this product. Options: replace the sony soundbar with a passive polk soundbar or similar and keep the AV receiver or: Return the AV receiver and use the nice, but limited sony amplified soundbar. Hope this helps
