Well DV9000 series notebooks were under a recall programme from HP,

So the best way would be call HP and check whether the recall is still valid or not.

If yes then they would provide you a free repair or if the computer is under warranty then they would provide you a free repair as well.

Replacing hp dv9700 keyboard


Look for the screw marked with a keyboard icon and removed them then you should be able to remove and replace the keyboard. Not too hard. You can get the service manual from HP if needed.

most likely you have a loose connection between your motherboard and lcd screen or the video card is dying you can test it by puting another monitor on your laptop if it works fine then it the connection. if the problem still exist its the video card

when you changed it to do nothing on battery or power did you save these settings........I know it is a silly question but it sounds like the laptop is going into Hibernate mode

Touch pad on my dv9700 not working


If it is a hardware issue the ribbon cable may have somehow come loose connecting to the touchpad circuit board, if you are comfortable disassembling it you might check that; I would first try to make sure you have all the latest drivers and if that doesn't work do a clean install of your operating system to see if it is just a software issue.
