So my friend got me an iphone for a present and im not sure if it was stolen or not which is horrible but he says it only says disabled when you turn it on ...he can't get past the home screen. Is it cause maybe if it is stolen the person who had it before had it shut off so i can't use it or could it be something else...i have i wireless and want to use it but will i even be able to and if so if the phone is not unlocked for use of iwireless how do i unlock it for my carrier?

How do you enable iphone 4s ios7 without computer or icloud?

I'd contact the seller and see what's going on. It could be a stolen phone. Disabled means that someone entered the wrong passcode too many times, and you WILL need a computer (iTunes) to restore it.

Hi my brothers friend tried entering the wrong password in our IPOD TOUCH . Now it says IPOD IS DISABLED connect to itunes. PLEASE HELP!

You need to connect it to the computer with itunes that you usually connect it to or sync it with. This is because your friend has locked your iphone in case it was stolen. However, by syncing it back with its normal itunes computer, it will realise it hasn't in fact been stolen and should all work again normally.

iPhone passwords are in place to prevent stolen iPhones from being accessed. So seeing requests like this on the internet does raise suspicions as to whether or not the phone was stolen, but if it ~wasn't~ stolen then there are a few solutions:
--- If your friend still has the computer to which this iPhone was originally connected, then you can do a system restore on the phone and resync it with his account. This will most likely result in a loss of all stored pictures and data. Here is a step by step guide for how to do this: http://cellphones.about.com/od/howtoguides/ss/restore_iphone.htm
--- If your friend never sync'ed the phone with iTunes (pretty unlikely) or does not have his computer available, then you can go with him to an ATT or Apple store and ask for help there. You will need him as proof that the phone is changing hands. Whether or not files are lost may depend on their tech savviness.
--- If restoring doesn't work, if your friend isn't nearby, if there's no ATT or Apple store nearby, or if it's too much trouble to coordinate going there, then you're entering hack-zone, which is for what iPhone thieves are looking. This involves looking around for iPhone jailbreak software options and the like. I won't help with that; don't steal. If you didn't steal then good luck!
