I've had my acer aspire (5315) laptop for over 2 years

I've had my acer aspire laptop for over 2 years now, the past year it keeps over heating. I do not put it on my bed, i keep it on my knee to make sure plenty of air gets to the fans. This seemed to work, but the past week, it hasnt helped at all. What can i do ?...Oh and i've cleaned the fan out and it wasnt even dusty !!!! I still havent a clue what to do.

Hello,

Sometimes, the CPU heat sink fan might get clogged up or faulty or stop spinning entirely. Make sure that the fan can turn properly.

IF YOU CAN, open the unit when the battery is disconnected and the power is not connected, then reseat the CPU Heat sink and re-apply a eye drop heat sink thermal paste onto the CPU. Reconnect and tighten everything again properly and adhere to the sequence in turning the screws back as per their numbering on the heat-sink

If the FAN has trouble spinning, doesn't turn at all or is noisy and runs irregular please replace the fan. The fan alone should cost about a few US $.

My acer aspire 53115 is just turning itself off randomly...it seems to be getting a little hotter than usual too, but that my just be my imagination. It is a year old, but I had it in the box for 6 months,...

Hi:
It sounds as if you are experiencing a heat related issue. Often the problem can be taken care of by removing the heatsink/fan assembly, cleaning it, and reapplying thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU.
I am guessing that if your laptop is over a year old, even if you only used it 6 months, that it is out of warranty. You have to be a little careful on disassembly, but it should clear up your problem.

Cracked lcd sct reen acer aspire 5315 model

I would start by doing a search on Ebay. Often times you can get parts or a damaged laptop with parts for a very reasonable price. I just did a search for your laptop model and found a damaged Acer Aspire 5315 for $81. As of this posting on 10/31 at 9:10 am CST time, the auction ends in 2 hrs.

After doing a quick internet search, I found a web site called http://www.screencountry.com and I saw a monitor for your model listed at $99.

Ok i have had my acer aspire 5315-2326 for a year

try downloading the compatible acer aspire webcam software for your laptop. My laptop is also acer. It is aspire 4730z and it works perfectly fine. I think the software you are using is not compatible with your laptop.

Also most aspire models have lesser durability webcams. It gets really annoying when webcams of aspire won't work. I completely understand your situation.

Just follow my instruction and it will work perfectly fine.

Acer won't boot up

Hi,
when any computer posts/boots up.
it goes through a sequence of initialising things before booting.
i,ve been repairing computers for around 12-15 years.
1st i,d try removing the ram ( memory ) usually underneath the laptop, behind a screw cover. Or ocassionally under the keyboard.
if 2 sticks of ram are installed, remove the battery. and 1 stick of Ram. put battery on and try to boot. if no joy with that try the other stick of ram. and replace battery-Re-boot.
If this works you have 1 stick of faulty ram or faulty ram slot on motherboard. Failing this. I suspect that the CPU has overheated, and therefore a replacement Processor should solve the problem.

Thankyou for using fixya.
