Assuming that there is no provision for a panel darkening mode...the panel LCD is probably bad. You might try accessing the unit and unplug/replug in each connector. Sometimes, this will help. Be sure the wall plug is removed before doing this.

Error code F08 FLASHING WILL NOT SPIN

The pressure switch is stuck and the machine thinks it is full of water. You need to remove the top, look for the pressure switch and unplug the hose on it and blow air through the hose. Then replace the hose on the switch. It looks like this: http://www.yourspares.co.uk/parts/hotpoint/washing-machines/wt960p/parts/ys56011/hotpoint-wt960p-pressure-switch-spares-C00194160.aspx

No dash lights when headlights are turned on. Everything works fine on my vehicle EXCEPT today the panel lights don't work. Turn signals, hazard blinker, oil gauge, rpm gauge, speedometer, drive shift...

there is a regulator for the display brightness, you may have it turn'd down or it has stopped working;. it controls the brightness at which the dash lights are. usually has a speedo sign on it. goes up and down. it works with the main light and is conecter to them on the same lighting board if it has gone then a new light swtch control switch will be needed.

2005 bUICK park avenue ultra, the climate control indicator goes dim, I hit the dash and the light comes on stronger

There are 3 things to think what can be the problem.
1. there is a day/night sensor on the dash.{not working properly}
2. there is a variable dimmer for the cluster illumination. loose connector or terminals.
3. The display itself.{can be defect} loose connection at the display or terminals.
lot of work.

Hope it helps.

How do I find the filter on the Hotpoint Ultima WT960P? I want to clean it, but it isn't under the kick strip - or at least if it is, the cover tells me it's an electrical panel...

If I am right this machine is fitted witha self cleaning pump and does not have a filter. If there is no filter under the kickstrip then this is correct. many Hotpoints are now made this way but yiu may still have one so check under the kickstrip.

Lcd display very dim and flickering

I've put up with the same problem on my WD860 for nearly a year. The unit works fine - just the display flickers rapidly, goes very dim or goes off completely (one has to then guess and listen to the beeps to work out what its doing!).
Typically, the fault occurred shortly after the warranty expired. The 5 years parts warranty is a bit of a swizz - as you can only get the parts free if you pay for Hotpoint to fit it.
I did find a place that was offering a new display panel for just over £90.
After much Umming and Arring about ditching the entire machine or gambling on replacing parts (not knowing if it would fix the problem) I Googled the part number "Hotpoint hm0108" and found a place here in the UK (Nottingham) the sells recon parts.
(I won't give the name in case It's classed as advertising). You buy the replacement unit and send your faulty one back to them, which validate their warranty (I guess they recon your part to also sell on).
The display/control unit was just over £40.
Removing the display/panel is dead easy..
- Disconnect the power from the unit (Obviously)
- Remove the 2 screws at the back (from the little brackets). This allows the Lid to be removed. There seems to be a bit of a "knack" to removing the lid - otherwise you break a few little plastic clips!... With both hands push down and back firmly from the front, until the lid slides back about an Inch. Make sure its pushed back as far as it will go before you lift it up - other wise you'll hear the clips break and rattle down inside the unit (Mine did break, but the lid still screws back on fine, so they can't perform any major function!).
- On the display panel pinch the the row of bottom clips all the way along, to release the unit.
- The panel then hinges from the top and slides down and out.
- Remove the data/power Connector block (Which is keyed so that it only fits one way).

Repeat the process in reverse to install the new part.

Everything works a treat. I can now actually see what the unit is displaying!
I've fixed the problem and done my part for the enviroment - by recycling parts that Hotpoint don't make correctly!!... and not had to pay the earth (I think hotpoint wanted nearly £120 for a 2 min job!)... Everyone's a winner!

I have no idea what the actual problem was - obviously a design/manufacture fault with the LCD display unit.

I hope this helps?

(I'll probably never buy anything Hoitpoint again!)

Head Lights go dim, instrument panel goes dim when I turn on my Headlights

Does it go completely black or just dim? Most displays dim when you turn the lights on to make the display darker so its not too bright. GPS and other displays do this. Do you have any problems with any other of the car's electronics?

Gateway FPD 1830 18.1 in. Flat Panel Problem

Usually in these cases the power supply would be the issue, but you say the OSD window shows up clearly, So the LCD panel is good and the Power Supply /inverter depending on which your FPD has.
FPD 1830 should have 3 boards(logic, Inverter, Power) otherwise just 2(logic, power)

If it is super dim, the problem is the inverter. Or the Power Supply if the inverter is embedded

Otherwise what your issue is the logic board, if you can swap out that part for a good one, Chances are for sure that you will have a spanking new FPD working.

I've worked with these a lot. Im working on one right now.
I hope this helps
Wish you luck
