If you are smelling gas it is advised that you just call the gas company, they come out for free and find out what it wrong. Some heaters will always produce a small amount of gas smell, but most don't. You can check all of your gas lines with a little soap and water and see if you see any bubbles and if you do then tighten that part up.

But you will even need to check your gas valve for possible leaks also

Flame will no light. Replaced the ignightor module

Sounds like the gas valve isnt opening. are you able to smell if you are getting gas into the system. when it goes to light just try and smell gas coming threw the flue. if no gas try and check with a multi meter if the gas valve is getting power to it. also it might make a click noise when the solenoid in the gas valve energizes. also check that there is indeed gas going into the gas valve. it could also have some gunk blocking the gas from entering the gas valve there is a screen that can block with stuff that might be restricting the gas from passing through.

If the heater is "acting normal" with no failure codes and you smell gas, then I would bet it's the igniter. The fact that you smell gas indicates the heater does not have a failure in any of the safety circuits and wants to fire. It is just missing an ignition source or the gas you smell is not making it to the proper place to be ignited. Given these two options it is most often the igniter. Replacing the igniter is not difficult but it is a VERY delicate part and experience in handling it is benificial.

Spring start up of pool. cannot get pilot to light for furnace.

Maybe, but unlikely. The amount of gas that is released to the pilot is pretty small. I assume the heater is outside, where the slightest breeze would blow the gas away. I also assume you are having trouble lighting the pilot and you are wondering if maybe there is no gas, since you can't smell it? It may take a few minutes of holding the button down before the pilot will light, and once it does, you may not be able to see the flame in the light of day. If you wait until dark (or at least dusk) you should be able to see the flame of the pilot more easily. And don't forget to hold the button down for a minute or two after it lights to be sure the thermocouple has had time to heat up. If you release the button and the pilot goes out, you probably didn't wait long enough, but it will re-light easily. I hope you find this helpful. Good luck.

All my heater does is click. I can't smell any

Could be a bad ignitor or if it is a new heater the gas supply could be undersized. ether way for almost all heater repairs you should get a qulifyed repairman. It is a box full of fire next to your house.

Pool heater won't light

it is possible to light a pool heater with an ignition device, however it is not advisable.since your unit is calling for heat and the gas valve is opening,i suspect you have a faulty ignitor
