Try a USB keyboard on the laptop just so you can bypass the laptops keyboard. If the USB keyboard works properly then you know that your laptops keyboard keys are bad and you would need to replace the keyboard. If the control keys don't work on the USB keyboard then you know that its a setting in windows thats causing the keyboard to act up.

You might have changed settings of stickey keys

Check the setting in start- control panel- ease of access center- make keyboard easier to use.

Go to sticky keys -uncheck the box.

Also check the other settings in it.

It will resolve your issue.

If yes.. if not..you might need to remove the keyboard driver from device manager.

SOURCE: hp laptop,,vista os,,turboc not working in full screen

As for the sad part, Vista does not support fullscreen for DOS applications. You can use DosBox emulator to emulate TC and expand it to fullscreen. But be warned that it might crash at times when your program exceeds the limits of DosBox. I've tried it for the same purpose as of yours. Be sure to check your complete presentation before the final day.

why do you say desktop?
does that mean the internal screen is dead, long ago and now you run external screen?

if the system is still as HP made it, IS IT?
the F11 key will pop up a screen called HP restore for VISTA
use that to reInstall the HP operation system with all HP , drivers
The HP will go back to DAY 1 condition. doing that.

if someone, put in a new HDD, and the then used Microsoft disks
to install an MS OS, then the F11 HP features will be dead.
or if the Hard disk was ever fully erased. same. deal.

the GPU can fail, and most did.
and the screen goes dead, then the external too can go dead.
external VGA.

hope that helps.

The easiest way is to borrow a mouse and allow it to be discovered. This will give you the device tab in control panel. It should then work with your mouse.

HP Pavilion dv6000 OS(s)

The product key on the label on the bottom of the laptop will only work for the version of Windows that was installed on that laptop.
You can purchase an upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate and to use in conjunction with the existing Vista Home Premium.

you can make a dual book (multi OS) on your laptop so that you can just switch over to XP or vista and vice versa.

try this article on MS on how to install a multi OS. i haven't tested it in vista though...but i think it would work..please let me know.

also..you can use a Virtual PC and install XP there, its much more easier.
