Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

I have a Printer Canon PIXMA MX310 and I lost my installation CD, DRIVERS and the interface for the Scanner...PLEASE HELP...

You can download the manuals and software from Canon.

Once you download the software, you should be able to reinstall the software. Remove the previously installed driver (In Windows, Start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs (or Uninstall Programs) depenind in the OS.)

    Did you download and install the drivers or the full software or all of the above? I see them as separate files. You need the MP Navigator running and I see two different files in the software section with that name (the software and the "opener"); there is also the Photo-Printer software as well. The printer and scanner drivers are also two separate downloads (with two other drivers listed as well).

    Scanner issues can also be a symptom of a loss of bi-directional communication. Try a new data cable and a different port. If you have a print server or hub, try a direct connection.

    There is a firmware update available for the unit. Be careful, this can lock up a machine worse than your original problem. Try everything else first.

    Which version of the Mac OS do you have? Version 10.2 and earlier you needed to install all of the software before connecting the printer to the computer. (Version 10.4 and later you can connect the printer and then install from the disc or download.)

    NB: the Navigator will launch a monitor on reboot that needs to be running at all times to communicate with the scanner.

My canon pixma MX320 printer won't scan and when it attempts to it says there is no scanner detected


Your printer will be detected as scanner if you successfully installed all feature of the drivers from the cd installer.

After installing the driver, the printer should be connected directly to the pc to detect the printer as scanner.

If the printer is on network... connect the usb to the pc that you are using.

My cannon mx310 wont scan photos

If you have the original CD that came with the printer, install it since the program will have the printer drivers. You didn't mention what operating system you have- I found some scanner drivers by googling "mx310 scanner drivers", and there are some out there- one site that had a free download was for a mac OS, but there are others for Windows. I have a Canon, and the way it scans is that you push scan on the printer, and it brings up the Canon Imaging Studio to receive the scan. I've never tried it without the program, but the net has drivers so I'm guessing they work, however I don't know.
You might be able to get a copy of a Canon CD from Best Buy- I know they keep copies to help people reload programs when they lose their CD.

Lost install CD for Canon PIXMA MP160

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Official Canon Drivers and Software


After downloading is finished, unplug the printer USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

You don't need the CD, just go to this site: Driver Update and use their software to update your driver.
