There's a small hole in the blade. Insert a nail or screwdriver through the hole and tutn blade until it stops. Ypu can also use a piece of wood place in one the blade teeth and turned until it stops at the show plate.

How do I change the blade on a Craftsman 10"

Hi Tom, W/D here.
There are usually three different ways that blades are installed and/or removed. All require that the power be removed from the saw first (pull the plug, please).
1. The most common method involves a shaft lock, so look for this first. It will appear as a button on the motor, near the blade. When you depress the button, you'll need to rotate the shaft/blade by hand until the lock sets in place in the shaft. Then, while still holding the shaft lock button down, use a wrench to loosen the blade. (Look at the threads to make sure that you are turning in the right direction, as this may be reverse threaded).
2. Less common is a shaft that has an allen socket in the end of it. Place the loosening wrench on the not, then place the allen wrench in the end of the shaft.
3. If all else fails, you can, VERY carefully, wedge the blade down into a piece of soft wood such as pine, then loosening the blade with a wrench. Make very sure that you keep all of your bodily parts out of the line of fire when using this method, as the blade can turn suddenly, and you don't want to have anything caught up and cut by the blade.
Hope this helps, Best regards, --W/D--

How do I change the blade

Isn't there a lock mechanism on the saw?
Engage that and wrench off & then on.
Be sure blade arrow direction is correct.
PS You're not the sharpest blade in the pack----are you?

How do I change the saw blade on my 2 hp 7 1/4 saw?

If the saw doesn't have a locking mechanism for changing the blade then you will have to jam a piece of wood in the teeth of the blade so that it cannot turn. Remember safety first. Ensure the saw is unplugged and wear leather gloves when changing the blade. Use a socket or wrench to loosen the nut that holds the blade on and remove the blade. Use the reverse procedure to tighten the blade.

How to remove a blade from a 2.5 hp sears table 10 inch tablesaw

First and foremost unplug the unit from the receptacle. Raise the blade as high as it will go and have it set to 0 degrees in a vertical position. Remove the throat plate (usually red) so you can access the bolt holding the blade in place. The saw came with a wrench for this purpose. It may have even come with 2 wrenches. One to remove the bolt holding the blade on and another to place behind the blade on the shaft to hold the motor. If it only has one wrench look for a small hole in the blade and use a screwdriver to keep the blade from turning. If there is no tool or hole to hold the blade then use a heavy scrap piece of wood to hold the blade while you remove the bolt. As you remove the blade notice the direction the teeth are pointing and put the new blade on turning in the same direction. You just reverse the procedure to put the new blade on. NOTE: Some saws have a motor lock that locks the motor and blade in position making it easier to change the blade. Just be very careful as it is easy to cut yourself on the blade.

Can not remove the old blade

1. Unplug the saw.
2. Locate the blade lock button used to lock the motor shaft when changing a blade. For your saw, this button is usually located on the left side of the blade guard somewhere around the motor housing.
3. Push the button while rotating the blade until the button engages and the blade will no longer turn.
4. Use the wrench that came with the saw (or another wrench) to loosen and remove the blade bolt. For your saw the bolt should have standard right hand threads which means you loosen the bolt by turning it counter clock-wise.
5. Remove the old blade and replace it with a new blade of the same mounting type. Some blades have a round through hole and some blades have a diamond through hole.
6. Re-install the blade bolt and tighten clock-wise while holding the blade lock button down.

How do you install the blade in the craftsman recipricating saw model 320

You need a allen wrench to remove the blade and to reinsall it look at the base of the blade and you will see an allen wrench. If there is no allen wrench then you must pull down on the clap assembly to release the blade. If you still can't figure it out here is sears web site where you can get help for it if you need a picuter.

Need to change the blade on a craftsman 10'' miter saw model 137.23498, how do i do it?

First off, unplug the saw. No need to remove the guard, though you may have to loosen the cover over the lock nut to access it on some saws.
Look for an arbor lock button on the back side of the blade housing or motor, to lock the blade in place.
Hold that down and use a wrench to loosen the nut holding the blade on.
If you don't have an arbor lock, you'll have to wedge a 1x 4 or 2x4 under the blade and hold pressure on the handle to keep it from spinning while you loosen the lock nut. Once it's loose, spin it off and remove the washer and blade, replace and retighten the nut.
Should be pretty straightforward, as long as you have no power to the machine and lock the blade from turning, not too much can go wrong.
If you want to find an online manual with instructions for your saw, please try Sears online support site at www.managemyhome.com.
