Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV
I STILL CAN SEE FLESH TONES AND OTHER BUT THE GREEN OVER SHADOWS AND DOSE NOT LIT THE BRIGHTNESS THROUGH, PLEASE HELP,THANKS BUBBA
I am so sorry to tell you that you have an optical block related problem. All the symptoms you have described match the description of an optical block failure. Replacement block nearly costs as much as a new tv. Is the tv under warranty? There have been several class action lawsuits against companies producing faulty rear projector failures and nearly all of them here in India have been decided in favor of customers. Worth a try if the tv is less than 5 years old.

You can try doing a reset from service menu. There is also an LCD adjustment on service menu that can often fix the problem.
First check that the problem does not depend on a faulty connected device (eg. a receiver) or on a bad cable. Also try resetting the set by disconnecting power cord for about ten minutes.
To enter the service menu:
If you want a quote on repair, call Hitachi at the phone number listed on the owners manual.
Here all parts for this set.

Thanks for using FixYa. First check whether all the cables from your dish net work are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the TV, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage a tube. So we are doing real small adjustments. Turn the color off on the TV and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture. And, if it doesn't resolve the issue then it is an intermittent blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue CRT board, or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC. Please replace whichever has gone bad. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in OFF condition. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
