Hi, since you said it is a knob control and it is not digital control, if when you turn the knob those the temperature change with the knob or the knob does not just correspond with the knob? If it does not align alone with the knob, What you will need to do is that, just pull out the knob from the oven, set it to Zero degree temperature. From the knob setting , check where Zero starts from and place the knob back starting from number Zero. I think that will work. Take care.

Oven sometimes doesn't heat up. Sometimes heats up to desired temp, then quits working. Sometimes doesn't even heat up at all. When preheated light comes on, thermometer in oven usually says about 100...

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symtoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

My oven temperature is 100 degrees hotter than it should be

It will be the sensor inside the oven compartment that is causing the problem.
A new sensor should cure the prob, certainley cheaoer than buying a new oven.
Hope my advice helps you.

I have a JKP13 oven and the temp is about 100 degrees off if not more. I do not get a code on the front pannel.

This is a simple repair and you can do it yourself. If your temperature is off, you have a bad temperature control sensor.

THE OVEN TEMPRATURE IS NOT CONSISTENT.IT KEEPS BURNING FOOD.

Usually this is due to a bad temperature sensor. Sometimes it's due to a control board malfunction.

If you can get an accurate measurement of the oven temperature (which is not as easy as it sounds) you can do some diagnosis from the outside:

You need an accurate thermometer or thermocouple into a DVM. Make sure there are no obstructions in the oven (baking sheets, etc). Make sure you are measuring the temperature in the center of the oven cavity.

1. If the average measured oven temperature agrees with the display, the sensor is probably ok. The controller cycles the element on and off, at a rate that results in a correct average temperature. So you have to record the thermometer reading min and max over several cycles.

2. If the sensor seems ok from #1, it can be verified by disconnecting it and measuring its resistance. Should be 1080 ohms at 70F.

3. If the sensor seems ok, but the oven temperature is erratic, then it's probably a control board issue. We repair these at www.fixyourboard.com

My oven runs about 100 degrees hotter than the dial says

Check the temperature select knob. On the inside of the knob there should be an adjuster.

The temperature probe may be the faulty component since this is an integrated machine.
