Looks like a bad micro-chip or grounded connection. Remove all speakers, if it powers on then we know that you have a grounded speaker somewhere. If it doesn't, check the board for any cause of grounds like dirt or strand of hair. Clean the board with cold air blower. If no improvement, send your receiver to an authorized service center to avoid further damage. The receiver may have a bad IC that needs replacement.

Also, please check if the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch on the rear panel is correct.

Your receiver probably went into protect mode because you were overloading the output stage with concert blast. In some units, protection consists of fuses that blow; in others protection is provided by thermal shutdown devices.

When push the power button, I can hear a relay click but the unit will not power up. I took the cover off and fuses are good. Can't find anything in the trouble shooting section of the manual. What do you...

When the unit functions correctly, you should hear 2 clicks. The first is the power relay that "starts" the unit. The second is the speaker protection relay that will kick in the speaker connection. If you do not hear the second click, the unit is in protect mode. This means that a problem was detected in the amp section and the unit is prevented from connecting the speakers. This is done to prevent further damage. Typically the output transistors fail and cause this. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$50 range for this repair.

Greetings!

It's been a while since I did one of these, but if I remember correctly:

- Turn on the set
- Push volume down on remote and at the same time....
- Push Split on the remote and hold both for 5 seconds

This should do it. The display should reset to "0".

Good luck!

When you push the power button, the blower fan comes on. In a few minutes you should hear a second "click"--that is your compressor starting. Do you hear that second click?

The compressor is located in the rear bottom on the right side looking at the machine. After you press the start button and the blower fan comes on, bend over near the back of the unit and listen for the "click".

Not powering on

1. The power cord is not completely insered. 2. the impedance selector switch on the rear panel is not fully set to the upper or lower end - (set it when the unit is in the standby mode) other then that, you will have to call for a service.
