Question about Washing Machines

Make: Bosch 500 Model: WFMC5301UC/13 Good Morning and thank you. It all started when the door would not open and It had an E-13 (not E-03) during rinse cycle and will not proceed. I first poured a couple gallons of water down soup input in case the sensor saw too much suds (sensor confused). the pump pumped the water out but then kept going till I turned (with knob) the system off. Took the cover off, the pump is clear and is turning with no restrictions. The impellers look good with no visible damage. nothing jammed. Even at one point opened and watched the impeller turning with no restrictions. I removed cloths and used a wet vacuum to pull all water out. Starting the cycle again, no water flowed in but in a few minutes drum turned and then 10 minutes or so later it tried to drain.... the pump continued till I stopped it. I believe the sensor for water level is bad. The intact screens are clean (hot and cold water supply) and there is plenty of pressure. removed back panel and the Wire harness appears to all be intact and all connected. Blocked hose, - Hoses are all good I believe the pressure switch/sensor may be defected/plugged. I tried removing the front cover, I got the door off but still can not get to the rubber portion containing the pressure switch (at least I think). Out of Ideas and I've turned my underwear inside out many times. The wife and dogs are complaining. Help. Clem

Ok please find above, a generic service manual, also a Bosch troubleshooting manual, this will show you how to troubleshoot your unit, most info is transferable, use this manual and the links above to assist you. Please check them all out and download the PDF's with this info you should be all good. I have found over the years that whenever one has nebulous faults, usually it is the main "Brain" controller board that needs replacing. You need to physically check, each sensor with a meter to ascertain if they are good or not.

My Bosch front loading washer is flashing E:13 and won't open

Hi, i had an E-13 error code on my Bosch 500 series washer. The drain pump impeller was plugged. Access the drain impeller at the bottom front right corner. Just put a pen in the hole and turn the cover. Then you need to manually drain the washer. I used a shop vac by just turning the cap until it started to leak and vacuum the water as it comes out, this takes quite a while. When you get it drained you can take the cap completely off. When I did I found a wipe in the impeller. I took it out and put it back together and the washer worked just as before.

Take care

Door won't unlock and cycle won't start

The interlock has failed most likely. Its a small electronic part that the door catch connects into when you close the machine door. Its tricky to release but can be done. Unplug the machine, remove the lid, put your hand down the front of the machine to where the door catch goes in and fiddle until it releases. It takes a bit of luck when you dont know what your looking for.

Can a bosch 500 + series be put into just a spin cycle so I can level the feet?

Most washers have dedicated Spin only prog.
Refer to your user handbook, if you do not have one, then ring the manufacturers help line, they usually have a dedicated number for customers with problems such as yours.
