Connect it to the computer and make sure itunes is not running. turn off ipod by slide to power off. After it is off, hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time until the apple appears and then let go of the sleep/wake button (top) but continue holding home button until the connect to itunes symbol comes up on your ipod, open itunes and itunes will tell you to restore it.
