Yamaha Keyboard, Portatone PSR540, voice change not working

Yamaha Keyboard, Portatone PSR540, voice change question; no detailed info on manual to understand why it's not working. Example is: Pressed ''voice change'' button, chose voice (flute), Pressed ''Exit'''' per manual; noted ''voice change'' button light came off; thought it's set. Then, chose another voice (piano) to play. So, when playing ''piano'', hitting ''voice change'' button again to call up ''flute'' previously set (noticed voice change button light came on), hoping to change to ''flute''; but display only showed the new voice, i.e. ''piano'' and not ''flute'' originally set; in fact, the ''voice change'' showed the ''piano'' as if it were reset. How can one change voice by pressing the ''voice change'' button on such keyboard, or does it work that way? Can anyone help?

SOURCE: Yamaha clavinova won't play C natural in any octave

Hi ...
There are flexible cables that connect the keys to the main electronics. The connectors for those cables sometimes age poorly..
It is fixable. But dont "get taken" on a repair.
If it's just resoldering a few points,it shouldnt be more than $100.00
to fix

SOURCE: Yamaha PSR-510 Keyboard

There is no need for a manual. It is so easy to operate because it is designed for easy opeating. If you need a manual to operate the PSR-510 then you really won't be able to operate it even after studying the manual. But here it is just in case you can by some miracle!

I need a manual for a psr-275 Yamaha keyboard. Can you help me, please.

The owner's manual for the Portatone PSR-275 is available from Yamaha on the product page: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/digitalkeyboards/portable_keyboards/psr-275/ . Click on the Suppport tab and look at the Downloads section. The English version is right there. For the manual in other languages, click on the More Downloads link and scroll down from the search box area. The links are done in Javascript so you'll need a modern browser to resolve them. The direct link to the User's Manual (in English) that came up today in my browser is http://download.yamaha.com/api/asset/file/?language=en&site=usa.yamaha.com&asset_id=3111 . This is a PDF file so you will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read or print the manual.

I hope this helps.

Verify that the disk is sampled when you insert it, that is you can hear it access the disk. Also make sure you disks have NOT been corrupted by trying them in a computer or near magnetic fields. Some Cell Phones have a strong enough magnet in the speaker of them to degauss the disks.

I am trying to record sounds from my keyboard into my MPC 1000. I have what I think is the proper set-up. MIDI sync...softthru as track...etc. Problem is when I set it up I can play one sound and record...

It is not clear whether you are recording audio or MIDI. If you recorded Audio samples, you will get the same sounds back even if you change the voice on the keyboard.

If you record a MIDI sequence, and then play it back you will STILL get the same sounds UNLESS you also record the MIDI voice or patch changes so the voice is changed as it occured when you recorded it. Usually there are options taht you can enable or disable voice changes.

Does it have the option to load other sounds in it?

Here is the manual if you don't have it:http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/ssdrums/dtxp4_en_om_d0.pdf The set comes with 427 drum/percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices. If you use a midi cable plugged into the midi out on the sound module you can control other midi sound modules and midi devices by plugging into the midi in on them. Page 30 of the manual describes some of the parameters. If this helps please let me know.

No volume at all out of speakers PSR-E203. Plugged in to AC supply. Yamaha Portatone PSR-E203 YPT-200

Make sure you use correct power supply.

Try headphones. If they work, then the switch on the headphone jack that disconnects the speakers may not be working properly and not connecting the speakers.

I want to replce a couple of broken keys on a

Not familiiar with the PSR 6700, HOWEVER on the Yamaha Tyros the keys stay with the baseplate part. Once the top cover is removed, there are screws holding the segments of keys. The keys on the Tyros are in segments. As I recall the black keys are in two individual sections.

There may be commonality between the synths.

The keys press on a sheet of silicon rubber domes that have conductive "pills" under them. The restoring force is actually from the dome itself. Two contacts per key! BE CAREFUL to align the silicon sheet when re-assembling.
