I think my child has barred all incoming calls to my phone and am trying to reset all the functions but it keeps asking for a password which I have never changed and the user manual for this phone is about as good as looking at the local bus timetable. I can still ring out and receive sms as well as send. Can you help me.

Most remote controls use the same technology, so I think your remote will behave the same as a Sky remote. When you replace the batteries, you can lose a code held in memory. On a Sky remote there is a number in the battery compartment which is the code that works with your remote. There are also instructions there for how to install the code. So I think your remote will be the same. Somewhere in the remote will be the code, and instructions for entering it will either be in the battery compartment or in the instructions for the radio.
The is a very good program called Filescavenger which will recover files from your disk. I know I have used it and on a verbatim 1TB. The problem I have is that my Verbatim 1TB Model53018 keeps losing its visibility in windows and I have to recover all the files and transfering to another disk!!! Its just bollocks and I won't be buying another one of these **** things. Pay more and get a reliable disk. If Verbatim want to send me a fix... feel free and I might take down this comment. email@example.com
I would just try and come out straight to you, that your harddrive has very much likely to have crashed. Hard Drives are generally Very Fragile because of the Tiny Read/Write head that is inside. The moment it drops on the floor it might have got broken. and that is why you are hearing the funny noise...although it will still keep spinning because the voltage is still being supplied onto it, but you might not be able to read or write anything onto it. Sorry. Hope this helps. Goodluck.
