SOURCE: how do i open the speaker to reconecct the wires inside?

It may not be only wires loose; the speaker(or speakers) may be damaged.

The common 'dynamic' speaker has a centered magnet in an assembly that extends the field of the magnet around a coil of wire on a form called the 'voice coil' that is firmly attached to the cone which moves in and out to 'pump' air and produce sound.
The clearances (gap) between the magnet assembly and the voice coil that sits in a narrow space between the magnet and the outer field piece is very small and critical.

Once positioned in the factory, glue is used to keep the field assembly from slipping and rubbing against the voice coil.

A strong shock will break the glue bond and, if severe enough, clamp the voice coil so it cannot move freely any more.

Since the Bose is a quality product, the cabinet may be assembled with glue and screws that are concealed.

If you know someone with a simple multimeter, they may be able to check at the terminals to see if there is any continuity from the terminals to the speaker.
If it doesn't have any, then perhaps only a wire is broken between the terminals and the speakers.
There is with high probability also a filter inside that separates the frequency range and sends the signal to separate speakers that produce different ranges of sound.

SOURCE: Do all speakers have fuses? I may have blown one of my Bose 151 outdoor speakers, but can't find a fuse inside.

Unfortunately many speakers do not have fuses. Most likely the voice coil has opened up inside the speaker itself. You can either get a replacement driver (speaker) or re-cone the one you have. In any case, the driver needs to be replaced.

You can verify this if you use an ohmmeter. With an 8 ohm impedence speaker, the reading should be about 6 ohms. If you read a higher number or infinity, the coil is bad.

SOURCE: Bose Cinemate speakers stopped working

Sounds like you need to take them back for exchange. A new electronic product is most likely to fail in the first few months, when any weak or defective parts that made it through final test at the factory decide to **** out after a few hours of use. This is a very common situation, especially nowadays with manufacturers buying the cheapest parts they can find, and the general public crying out for lower prices instead of paying more money for better quality. Bose has traditionally been "top of the line" stuff, but even they have to cut corners to keep prices low and sell stuff in this economy.

SOURCE: I lost sound on one

first lets check
no need to open any thing

1) just trace the wire of working channel and plug out that and connect to opposite side of that channel

for example: if front left is not working, remove pin of front right and plug it into front left

after that listen the sound if front left is working then no need to open amplifier just check the wires of satellite speaker which is not working

how to check broken wire:

1) just observe your speaker nearly if you found any screw holes open it, if u can not find any screw holes remove front net which is fitted by press lock or any stepped groove, you can remove that and if you are removing front net you have to open speaker from casing then after you can find speaker's wire shouldered or bolted to it just check wire and go on after that u'll be sure that weather your speaker is failed or wire!!!

enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: Bose surrond sound not working...

Your TV may have a setting to make its Audio Output Variable or Fixed. That is, as you turn the TV's volume down or up it will either vary the output (as it seems to be doing in your case) or keep it Fixed so external electronics can still use it when the TV's volume is down or off. Some TV's do it another way - they have a selection to turn the TV's speakers OFF.

How to open a BOSE 161?

Yes, the grill can be removed. To pull out the grill you need to clamp on the sides but inside between the outside of the mesh and the outside part of the main plastic housing. pry at least a one incu on both sides, clamp it and wiggle it up until it pulls out. to reomve the speak is more work, on the center of each side, you will want to use a 1/4" screwdriver, but nice and thick. slide it on the center of one fo the sides of the speaker downward. looking downward on it, you will see two dimples with the center opened. slide the screwdriver between the dimples at least 1/4" down and thenbend outward slightlight the scredriver so it can grab on to the opening underneath the dimples., keep doing this on all four sides until it is loose enough for you to wiggle it our by hand. do note, that the wires inside are real short, to remove the speakers completely you will need to unwind the wiring attached. the wire is solid not mesh, so you will need to use a tweezer of sort or micro screwdriver(such as for glasses) to loosen the wires. once that is done, you can pull out the speakers a swell as other components. remember, the wires inside are real short. not long enough to disconnect them, a little work is needed to disconnect the wires.

you're going to need a ohm meter (good electrical testers have them) and make sure ohm ratings from speakers match the ratings for your receivers. Sounds like to much resistance for receiver(s)

No surround sound

It sounds like the speaker wires are mixed up or maybe a setting on the reciever is wrong. Verify your speakers are properly connected. you test speakers using a 9 volt battery or smaller.
