Question about Insignia NS-L42Q-10A LCD TV
If your NS-L42Q-10A will not power on with no lights and if you have a blue light on the tcon board when you push power then your problem is not your powerboard. The issue is your main board. These can be purchased from ShopJimmy and ebay.
Fixed one of these tvs today 8/17/12 using main board pn 715G3269-1 hope this helps someone out down the road.

There are two possibilities here.
The first is that you've had bad power board.
NS-L42Q-10A is known to have issues with the power board.
You can read more here:
The second option is that you have a bad main board. This also not unheard of and since you were able to get it to work with another power board it is actually the more likely case.
What I'd do if I were you is try to heat the main board a bit with a dryer to see if it will start up more easily in that case.
Do not overheat it though.
Sometimes it's just bad capacitor that needs time/temperature to work good.
Other times it's bad solder, usually on the main microcontroller, which needs higher temperature which expands the metal until it makes good contact.
Other times it is something else.

Hi there, (as far as I know :P) all these tv/monitor cords are the same...you can even use the one from your home computer. If you have a homecomputer try that powercord, if that works. then thrifstores are full of these for around a dollar. Radioshack and the like will have them too, but it could run upto $20....You can also try computerparts stores...These cords are all over. I have an old crt monitor of wich the power cord fits into my 2008 32" lcd tv....
Good luck and if this has (or not) helped you, then please rate, thank you!

Because you want to control a Samsung device with an Insignia TV remote control, Samsung will have to supply a code for our product. You may be able to find technical support via Samsung's website.

Did you try "Input , 2,5,8,0" ? May I know what exactly is the problem?
Caution:Be advised that the service menu is to be accessed only by trained professionals. Keep a notepad handy. If you accidentally change some setting then pen it down go back and change it again. Pen down the values of anything that you may wanna change. Be very careful.
