Don't think I've seen an option to disable it in any BIOS. I'm assuming you're trying to install it and it's not finding the drive? When it's loading, it'll say press F6 to load third party drivers. That's what you're after, most likely. Suppose it could be causing BSOD as well. Drivers are good for that.
you can enabledisable the CD drive and USB in the BIOS or go to regedit: Hkey_Local_machine\system\CurrentControlSet\dervices\cdrom\start 1=enable, 0=enable hkey_local_machine\system\CurrentControlSet\devices\usbstor\start 3=enable, 4=enable
Its very simple go to cmos setup when you start your laptop press F2 or Delete then go to security option when you find option for enable & disable password
no. BIOS is manually enable and disable hardware function in the machine. it prevent detection of uninstalled hardware.
if you enable all of the options, the machine will not be able to power up because some of the hardwares are not installed.
The understanding of how this works will require some study on your part. This is because you would not have enough basic knowledge to understand any short answers, that someone might give.

You are the fourth person I have helped with this board. One would think that ECS would have this posted on their site. Please update you're bios. Click on this link: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=685&DetailName=Bios&MenuID=1&LanID=9 Two user's tried 2 different settings & each worked out fine. You made the correct setting in you're bios. After flashing the bios to the latest bios file. Re-check you're settings. You may find you're setting will function. If not you will have to change the bios setting to Enable. According to ECS the bios will automatically turn off the onboard video. As I mentioned, this does & does not work. Try both settings if Disable fails to load with out the blue screen.
