Unfortunately there is no way of retrieving a lost password if you can't log into your router. The only way is to the reset it to factory default by pressing the reset button on the back of the router. This will clear the stored login information and reset your router to factory default.
Before you reset your router, download the manual from
here.
You will not need the CD at all. Although it might look more difficult, enter the information needed by hand, so something like this happens again, you know your settings (see the chapter "Alternate Setup Method" in the manual.)
Make sure you hold that reset button for about 10-15 seconds before you release it. After you did this, you can access your router again via the default IP address of 192.168.2.1. (Just type this in the URL bar of your browser.)
In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the “Submit” button to log in.
Don't forget that all your personal settings will be erased as well wireless security, port forwarding etc.!
This is what I did after entering all that information again:
I went to each screen and took a snapshot of that window (Press ALT+PrintScreen). This screenshot I copied into a Word document and repeated these steps with all important windows. Now I have a little "manual" in case I have to reset my router again and can't remember my "fancy" settings.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
