my monitor cannot display...when i was change the video card and the ram still not displayed.....

  • chaitanya_ch Jun 11, 2008

I don't think the problem is only with the video connection. I noticed that the keyboard also doesn't respond. Also, there is no beep at the boot time.

I had this problem a month ago and put aside my box until yesterday. It started working as if there was no problem. But the problem came up again now.

The problem ought to be with all the I/O devices.

I had this issue when I added a video card. Since you cannot bypass the onboard by jumper, you must still disable the onboard video. What I did was, put the new card in, boot up and install the drivers, then disable the onboard video in the Device Manager. unfortunately now when I put in a new sound card I get the same issue. Talk about your low end MB.

I'm having the same problem with a computer that i'm trying to fix.
I believe the problem is in the video connector on the back of the motherboard, for those of you still using the onboard video.
I have gotten video to monitor back, but as soon as you remove monitor cable from CPU and then reconnect it is gone again.
I think bad solder joint or something.

Hi! My Hp Pavillion a1710n desktop emits a series of never ending beeps every time I turn it on, and nothing appears on the monitor. I checked and the monitor is plugged in. I dont know what's going on.

The problem with RAM or DISplay card(It can be Moisture problem) or Processor Fan is not working properly. Open the CPU case, locate RAM, remove the ram by opening the both side clips. and put the RAM back as it is. If you have Graphics card on your CPU then remove the Graphics Card also and put it back as it is. Start the PC with opened case to check Processor Fan is Rotating or not. If Fan is not working properly then you have to replace the Processor FAN. Fan ok but same problem persists. you have to replace RAM with new one. as well as Graphics (Display) card.

Processor is OK, CPU fan is also working but no display in board, and also processor is no become heat when supply is ON

If there is no display then first of all we start form the power connector of your monitor check it if its lose if yes then fix it properly and also check your another cable which is connected to your CPU.

After power connector unplug all the power cables and remove the cabinet of your system
now look for the RAM on the mother board .
Take it out by un clipping the side locks.Clean the golden pins with a normal Eraser and clean it with cotton cloth.
Fix it in the same slot properly you have to be very careful, Keep the RAM properly and push it properly inside, the side lock should lock automatically if not then try again.

Then carefully plug only the power cord and the monitor cord and start the system, if you are not getting display then try the RAM in other slots.
If you are not getting the display the try changing the RAM.If this solves your problem then don't move to the next step. Then you are done if it resolves the problem then move to the below step.

Now lets move to video card, similarly take the video card and clean it and fix it .If you are not getting display then you have to replace the video card.

Now you are done.Hope the information provided will be helpful to you.
Thanks for using Fixya.

My system got hanged and atonce i switched off the systert. and again i started. processor and evry thing is okay. but monitor is not displaying.

How do you know if everything is ok if your monitor is black ? Before suspecting your monitor please move te computer to another monitor to see what happens.
A lot of problems can cause display not to start like :
Setting your display setting wrog at a resolution or a refresh rate that it cannot support.
A faulty RAM module
A faulty video card
Overclocked CPU and more.

No display

After all your troubleshooting, I think this is likely to be as a result of your processor over-heating, maybe because of your environment, or because the fan is not cooling the processor properly again. Therefore my suggestion would be for you to unscrew your system (If you can do it by yourself), and try to clean, or better still replace your processor fan.
If you cant do it by yourself, you can easily get a technician to do it for you. This solution is actually if your processor is not yet burnt.
But if your processor is burnt, then you might have to change it to a new compatible one. but before changing it, try to test the motherboard with another working, compatible processor first, just to be more sure.
Then always make sure that your PC is in a well ventilated, cool environment and that the environment is free from dusts.
Hope this helps you out.
