I'm having the same problems. I bought this pc fom someone and I seen it working. The person wanted to keep hard drive and memory. the I replaced memory with the same that was removed and installed hard drive with IDE cable. When I push the power button the fans try to move then a light comes on beside the memory. Any ideas.

Verify that all components are connected correctly. Make sure that you have enough wattage to power your machine. Also make sure that the power switch is connected to the correct jumper.

Have you tried checking if you motherboard had been damaged when your power supply exploded?
Cause theres a big chance that your motherboard will be damaged, cause explosion of power supply will trigger excessive voltage to your motherboard.

So if your motherboard is damaged, there will be no chance for your computer to turn on even if you change your Video and Memory Card.

Hi, what you have not tested for isolation is your power supply, re-seating of processor for 20 minutes, cmos clearing or battery removal and mother board swapping. If all your isolation seems futile the worst is the mother board.

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Was diagnos bad pwr supply, replaced power supply & now it wont do

I assume that you have a video card, and ram plugged in otherwise no startup. If so and you are absolutely certain of good power supply then it could be dead CPU / mobo. Did you buy a new power supply and ensure that the CPU power plug is plugged on the mobo?

Monitor is not on

Im gonna take it that "yup i'm hear the any beep" means you do hear a beep.

So first If it has an onboard vga card. remove the second vga and hook the monitor up to the onboard and try to boot.

Second try the Power Supply, make sure whatever power supply you use has enough to handle all the equipment in the unit.

If those two don't solve the problem, then you have a bad motherboard.
