My Sansa e200 was working well. I loaded a dozen songs or so and the next time I tried to connect to the computer nothing happened. The player turns on but is not recognized by the computer. I checked the USB ports and they're all working fine. I went to the Sansa web site and tried installing firmware. Nothing. I updated as suggested and nothing. I tried changing the USB mode and there is NO such option in "Settings". I could really use some help and Sansa doesn't seem to be able to.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

you could try putting it into recovery mode if it's like the sansa e200 series. to do this plug it into your computer and click the hold button so the orange is showing. next, hold down the record button while pushing and holding the power button at the same time. after a few seconds it should go into recovery mode and factory settings will restore. this works for sansa e200's and i hope yours is almost the same as them. try the sansa forums though they could help alot.
hehe. mine had the same thing. exact same. no lie. i think it means you have a virus on it. im not 100% percent sure though so dont destroy it just yet.
have you tried putting it into recovery mode? to do this simply plug it into your computer, then push the hold button so the orange is showing. Next, you want to push AND hold the record button AND the power button at the same time. After a few seconds it should reset to factory settings. i hope it works for you. i haven't had time to fix mine yet becuase i lost the cable that plugs into your computer =p cant do it without it!
Where is the music coming from?
If you have lots of Bad Tracks errors, the music is usually encoded incorrectly and the device does not know how to decipher it.
If the device still connects to the Computer, try to format it. My Computer, Right click on Device name (e200) and select format.
I would also update the firmware. It is available from the SanDisk website.
Best of Luck.
Check if the player is in Autodetect/MTP then try retransferring the songs on the player. And before unplugging the player from the computer check if the files are transferred to the player click on the sansa e200 player on the left window to check if it had really transfferred the songs to the player. If it still wont work, try trasnferring songs using windows media player.
