Kenmore stacked washer/dryer - washer problem

I have a Kenmore 417.90862990 stacked washer/dryer. When the wash cycle is done and the tub is supposed to empty before it spins, it does not empty completely. The washer enters the spin cycle with water still in the tub, which is resulting in leaking in the next cycle. I checked the air tube and it appears to be fine. The pump works too. I have to hold the timer switch in a certain position at the end of the wash cycle so that the tub will drain completely. This also happens after the rinse cycle before the final spin cycle. Any solution to this problem? Thanks.

I ordered a timer, put it in and it didn't fix my problem. I then figured it was my pump. Took the pump off, opened it up and found a necklace with lots of lint clogging up the pump. Cleaned the pump. Problem solved.

looks to me that you have eather coins, yes, coins traped in the electric water pump mostly a quarter blocking the inlet of pump or a piece or clothing from the hose that comes from the bottom of the OUTER TUB to the PUMP. if not you may have a faulty pump.

good luck to you.

Squeeling sound on spin cycle

This sounds like the same problem I had with my 887-327. It seems that coins can fall into the water pump from the bottom of the drum. I had to pull the water pump off the direct drive and turn the blades until the dimes came out. After I reinstalled the pump everything was quite again.

hi thanks for the question so your saying your tub is full of water ,did it stop in the middle of the wash cycle or at the end of the wash if its at the end of wash and it doesn, drain then you have a lid switch problem . if thats the case reset your timer as if you want to start a new wash load if it starts to wash your timer is ok replace the lid switch

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
