Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Some kind of loading error
I was having this problem with GTA IV from GameFly, it was working fine for the first few days, then got the 8001002B error. After searching the PS3 forums, I found out it was a "Dirty disc" error. I wiped the disc down, put it back in my ps3, and it worked fine.
Check your discs if you are having this problem and see if you have smudges/scratches/etc. If not, then it may be your reader in your ps3.

I have the same problem. My games do not work or Blu-Ray movies. see a pattern???? Yes its the blue laser it has stop reading to a point. I have diasembled my PS3 and have watched the lasers and what they are doing the blue laser goes to the first point of the game or movie and then when it tries to go to the next it skips over and over. The blue laser and red are in the same lens red will continue to work it has no problems. Red lasers have been out forever. Blu-Ray is still new thats why. S#^t happens you cant prevent it unless you come up with a better blue laser or beat sony to the next step RED,BLUE,GREEN laser the ultimate High definition. So to answer the question go to ebay search Playstation 3 bluray laser and buy it and install it. costs around $80-90. or call sony to do the samething and pay $200 or more your choice. option A for experienced option B for the noobs. If you have played a game using cheats and saved it after the game prompts a warning that "saving this game may cause memory errors." then you need to format that file. for me it was a ps2 game and i saved it while using a cheat got the warning and saved it anyway. wouldnt load my COD 4 game all the way so i formatted the ps2 file and reset defaults, all is well.
later, hope it helps

This error code means disk unreadable, clean up the disk, try also to avoid scratching the disk and to touch the disk with your fingers.
Hold the eject button for a few seconds till you hear a loud sound, this
does clean the blu-ray drive.
