Question about Toshiba 32A50 32" TV

1 Answer

Toshiba remote I have tried over a dozen different models of Universal Remotes with this tv, and cannot get any of them to work. With each one I have used all the Toshiba codes that came with it, plus looked online for any other codes available. I do not have the original remote. I'm wondering now if the IR sensor on the tv is defective. There is a light in the sensor box that stays on continually. Please help. Thanks, Steve

I have a Toshiba TVs that I lost the remote to..so I bought a RCA universal remote model RCR3273R can get it turn TVs on and off but can not get input button to work

Some universal remotes control some TV functions but not all. You may have to do a code search to find another code that will work with your Toshiba TV. It may be necesary to try another universal remote or even a replacement OEM remote.

How do you turn on the tv without a remote cause I've lost my remote

Courtney,

In order to do that, your TV will need to have a dedicated power or On / Off button. It may be a symbol like "I / O". Most TV have a button like that, but yours may not. If it doesn't - you can pick up a new universal remote to work your TV for less than $20.

What you'll need is your TV's brand name (Sony, Magnavox, Toshiba, RCA, etc.) and if possible - the model number. Not many remotes require a model number - but it can't hurt to have it. Go to a store that sells universal remotes (Fry's Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.) or eBay and either look for a universal remote that indicates it has the codes built in for your brand (and model) TV or a used on on eBay for your specific TV. When selecting a new remote, you pay extra for the number of devices it will operate. If you only need it for TV, than a one or two device remote will be all you need. If you want to stop using your DVD player remote and one for your stereo too, then you'll need a remote that can do 3 or more devices. Make sure that the remote will work for the brand and device. One that does Toshiba TVs may not do Toshiba DVD players. Checking the remote's web site can help you figure this out instead of standing in a store trying to figure it all out.

I hope this helps & good luck!

My Serial number is 94590994 and I cant tell what universal remote I need. TV is Stuck on channel 2

Do yourself a favor and save time, money and aggravation and locate an original remote, universals if they will program will be missing key features the original had.

If you insist on a Universal, use your computer and Google with the model number search for remote. that should give you a few hundred different remotes that might work.

Hello, I purchased my Toshiba TV 27DF46 at a thrift store and it did not have a remote and I cannot figure out how to get my av ports to work. I have tried changing the channel manually and using my...

There are several different options to solve your problem. You should be able to program your cable box remote to replace many (but probably not all) of the functions of the Toshiba TV remote that you're missing. Read the user manual that came with your cable box remote to find out how to program it to control different types of components. It's not very difficult and that would be your least expensive option. Another suggestion is to buy a "universal replacement remote" that are sold in many electronics stores. Once you program those universal remotes, they will perform most/many of the functions of the original (Toshiba) manufacturer's remote. A "universal replacement remote" can cost anywhere from $20 to well over $100 depending on how many electronic components you want to control. My best suggestion would be to buy a replacement remote that was specifically made for your Toshiba model 27DF46 TV. There are many companies on the Internet which sell those remotes specifically made for your TV. The cost is usually between $25 - $35. One last inexpensive option would be if you already have any other Toshiba components (like a Toshiba DVD player), in many cases, the remotes are nearly identical and will provide most or all of the same functions. I would start by trying whichever option makes the most sense for your particular situation. Good luck.

Remote will not turn the tv on and off

is this the original remote for this tv? if not then this is more than likely your problem. some remotes, however the same brand remotes, do not work with different model tv's. try using an universal remote or finding the original remote on ebay or possibly the net.

You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones usually don't work. If you don't have the original remote and can't find it ever or if it is too expensive you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your dvd player, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4 and other cable channels are still working,

You can buy the RF Modulator from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180299245670

Universal Remote Problem

If you have tried the manual search and found mone that will operate the set, then you may have to get an original replacement. You can find an original replacement at this link. http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=CF2791&brand_pn=AKAI_CF2791&mode=large&uid=11655939754370 If you try to use a universal remote, you will not be able to use special functions such as input, menu ect. Good Luck PS please do not forget to rate this link.
