Ftf530es knocks during spin cycle

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES, is having trouble with the drum rocking back and forth, from front to back. I suggest making sure that your washer is level. I would check from front to back, side to side, as well as from corner to corner. If you have leveled your appliance and are still noticing the drum rocking from front to back I would suggest contacting your local authorized technician. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Washing machine vibration

I had same problem. It was actually wearing out the rubber gasket on front door. It ended up being the spider on back of drum. They corrode pretty good with the front loaders.

When it spins, the washer makes a loud noise. it rattles. Also when it is doing the rinse cycle I can hear a vibration/rattling noise.

I'm sorry to say that tis is potentially very bad news. the problem you describe is almost certainly because the main bearing on the drum is worn out, allowing the inner drum to "flop about".
To test your bearings, open the door of the machine and by putting a little lifting pressure on the top of the inner drum, attempt to rock the stainless steel inner drum up and down.
The outer drum is mounted on springs and shock absorbers, so it will rock about (and it should do this) but the inner drum should not move up and down in relation to the outer drum. If the bearings are bad enough then symptoms will typically include:
A clonking noise as you lift and release the inner drum (this is the inner drum rattling on its bearings and or hitting the outer drum)
You will have become aware of the spin cycle becoming far noisier recently and possibly even a grinding crunching noise when the machine spins
The drum may feel like something is crunching or stopping you turning it when you spin it by hand with the door open
A leak from under the machine, which you will probably be able to trace to the back of the machine, coming from the centre of the drum. This is the result of the failing bearing allowing water to escape through the seal at the rear

My dryer Kenmore elite quiet pak is vibrating TERRIBLY. It still dries the clothes, but sounds like it is going to shake the house apart. Have checked lint door and exhaust tube, all clear. What next?

Check your leveling screws in front of the machine at the floor level, make sure they are touching the floor and not allowing the machine to rock back and forth.
Also it could be flat spots on your drum rollers that is causing your noise, if it is then follow these directions to solve that problem:

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.
If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt.
Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm
pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the
idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go
to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots
or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably
only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade
of machine oil such as 3 in One oil.
Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

WF218ANB noise like a bag of rocks being shaken.

This is a direct result of Samsung's Vibration Reduction Technology(VRT). There is a hoop at the front and the back of the drum holding 18 ball berrings in each hoop (36 in total). These balls use centrifugal force and automatically move to the opposite side of where the load is unbalanced and balances it out. It is only in the washing machines, not dryers.

Vibrations when drying

Unplug the dryer.
Take a putty knife and push the clips in between the front panel and the top lid.
Raise the top back, out of the way.
Inside the right and keft front sides of the front panel, remove the 2 screws.
Remove the wire connector to the front door.
Set the front panel aside.
Remove the screws from the blower wheel cover on the bottom left and check the blower wheel for free play on the motor shaft.
If free play is there, replace the blower wheel.
Reach underneath the drum and remove the belt from the motor pulley.
Lift the drum(it will take some force) by pulling the rear of the drum up.
Then pull it out.
The drum support is attached to the rear of the drum. The drum catch is mounted at the rear of the cabinet and is U shaped.
Replace both these parts.
Re-assemble and run your dryer.

Rock stuck between drum and housing

I bet its a real pain in the but. If yours is like most front loaders it will end up in the pump. Then you can remove it with alot less of a headache.

Washer shakes

If the drum moves about wildly during use, then the chances are the dampers need replacing.
These are exacly like the shock absorbers on cars (only smaller) and reduce the vibrations from the drum.

Without them, and just relying on the support springs, the drum will bounce about untill it breaks a hose - often banging the sides during slowing down from a spin.

It is also possible a support spring has come off or broken - this will cause the drum to sag when first loaded.

Both are replacable items with the back / top off.
