Question about Maytag Neptune MLG2000A Front Load Stacked Washer/Dryer
I have a MLG200AWWMaytag Neptune stack washer that stops mid cycle turns off and unlocks. Help! The machine was bought in 2002 and had the recall repair done in 2005. A repair man just replaced the washer timer and we still have the same problem. If you move the dial a tad and push the on button again it will start again. Sometimes it will finish the wash sometimes it repeatedly stops unlocks etc.

SOURCE: stops between cycles
sounds like a bad motor control board. It is located at the front rt bottom and will probably show a burnt spot in it or the fuse will be blown. You must replace motor kit.

SOURCE: starts and stops during wash
Hello fx1360. From your info the timer is sticking. You will need to unplug AC power first, if you don't have enough room behind the unit you will turn off the water facets and disconnect the hoses. Remove the back panel to the control housing. Before you disconnect any wiring make notes what color wire went where. Remove the knob and mounting screws to remove the controler. Now it is desion time. Option #1- note model & serial#, find a applance repair shop & get a replacement. If Mr. Budget says NO! Option#2- open the the housing of the control & clean the contacts with a burnising tool or emory fine grain sanding paper. This step will be like a watch repairman. Your brushes are worn down or your cam has worn down or the gears driving the cam are worn down. Good Luck.

d sounds as if your having a timer issue here. not recognizing the end of cycle and entering a new one ( bad timer).. as far as time of unlocking this is normal, theres a wax motor holding the door shut for i believe 3 min's.. and the water sloshing sounds is also normal they use a "water filled" balance ring around the perimeter of tub to help with the overall balance of machine
