How do I return my msi wind u180 to factory settings

Use the recovery partition on your MSI laptop to recover its original factory settings. Recovering your MSI laptop to its original factory settings will resolve problems with instability that you may be experiencing as a result of missing system files that were accidentally deleted. Recovering your MSI laptop to its original factory settings will also completely remove any viruses on your computer's hard drive that you were unable to remove with anti-virus software. Fortunately, you can wipe all of the information off your laptop's hard drive and start with a clean slate.

Instructions
  • 1
Turn on or restart your laptop. Press "F3" repeatedly when the MSI logo appears on the screen during the boot process to be redirected to the "Windows Boot Manager."
  • 2
Highlight "Windows Setup [EMS Enabled]" using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Press "Enter" to access the recovery partition on the hard drive of the MSI laptop. The "System Recovery Option" dialog box will appear on the screen. Click "MSI Recovery Manager." Click "OK" when a message appears on the screen notifying you that your computer will be restored to its original factory settings.
  • 3
Click "OK" when a message appears notifying you that the hard drive will be formatted to begin the recovery process. A dialog box with a status bar will appear to indicate how much time is left in the recovery process. Depending on the size of your hard drive as well as how much personal data needs to be erased, the recovery process could take up to 45 minutes.
  • 4
Click "OK" when a dialog box appears on the screen indicating that the recovery process is complete. Your laptop will automatically restart and boot up to the Windows setup screen, where you can begin personalizing the settings for your Windows operating system.

I have a microsoft keyboard that is wireless that will not work. the mouse works and the buttons at the top and side work that open up things like the calculator and put your computer in sleep mode but the...

If you say that yo bought another keyboard and it acts the same ..this means that the issue is not from the keyboard..If you also got a receiver for the second one ..and it still done the same after you pair it ..it means the the issue is in the operation system and it needs to be reinstalled..Probably it has some missing files that operates the keyboard signals..
If you have a recovery partition use it and make a recovery of the system to the factory settings ..after that run again the driver for the keyboard and pair it again and will work ..
During the installation use a normal wired keyboard cause the communication its ending during the installation for the wireless ones..
If you do not have a recovery cd ..(or you have one just with the drivers ) you will need a boot-able one with the operation system ..and do not forget to save the important files to another partition from the C drive (my documents too) cause on all installation processes the C partition is formatted and you will loose them ..

I bought hp laptop pre-installed with windows 7. There are partition as C(200gp) and D(25gb).Now i need more partition of size 100gb so i need to reinstall windows 7.They didnot provide windows 7 CD. how...

Usually, pre-loaded hp laptops have an utility to create (only once) recovery disks. U will need a few high quality DVDs or up to 20 CDs. The laptop must be connected to AC power during this process. The how-to is in Ur documentation that came with the laptop (probably in some pdf document). Usually, the procedure to create set of recovery discs is as follows (maybe it changes according to model): 1. Select Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager. Recovery Manager Opens. 2. Click Advanced Options. 3. Click Recovery disc creation, and then click Next. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Pls, send the laptop exact model, so I'll be able to verify this procedure.
BTW, did U considered use of some partition manager to resize the partition?

My iball pen drive is write protected i want to format it

This seems to be the problem of most of us these days and some of our readers who wanted to know the methods how they can remove the Write Protected error from their USB drives like Pen Drives and memory cards.

What is Write Protected error and why it happens?
In the Write Protected error, we can’t write or copy any data in our flash drives and even can’t format the drive.
There are many reasons that cause this problem, let’s see solutions of them.
Solutions:
• First of all try to locate a small switch (if any, that you may have not noticed) at some place on the drive or memory card reader. This is the prime reason for this error. If there is one, switch it to the other side to turn the protection off.
• Yes I know this problem is also occurring these days without this switch but not to worry. Just download this helpful software form here

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HDD-Low-Level-Format-Tool.shtml

and run it to execute a “low-level format” on the drive. This software is quite handy and may take few attempts to actually remove the error.
• The problem can also be caused by some virus activity so just get it scanned by some updated good anti virus which may solve your problem.
• BUT if none of the methods listed above solves your problem then your pen drive might have gone corrupted, so just get it replaced.
Hope any of the methods listed above solves your problem.
Update 1:
After the low level format, you may need to “Partition the drive“. Dont worry, partitioning a pen drive means allocating it its File System and Cluster Size that was lost after the Low Level Format.
For that:
  1. Run diskmgmt.msc in Run.
  2. In the disk management window, select the pen drive, right click on it and click on Format.
  3. Now choose the File System and Allocation Unit Size and do not check the boxes below.

Click OK and the drive will be reusable after this.
Update 2 (Better Solution):
Follow the steps in this post and just put the value 0 (zero) in step 5.
This will surely solve your problem now.

Report from Chkdsk that Segment is unreadable. System is a XP Home onto a single partition of NTFS of 149 GBs. It reports during verifing Indexes the following : At 15 % - Segment 96757 is unreadable......

Right click the drive select tools check both options and run from the XP utility. This may or may not help. The thing is once you start getting errors in the drive its time to replace it while you can still image the drive and transfer all your programs and info to a new drive. You can be fairly certain that that drive is going to crash sooner than later.

Problems with hard disks are indicated by 17XX errors. The computer more or less suggests booting from alternative diskette drive.Unless you have old parts to substitute for the repairs, I would disconnect the hard drive and boot from diskette for the time being until you find the parts( being drive, controller and cable).Check your bios settings to boot without the hard drive after disconnecting it.

No operating system - instal xp pro

With what you have done, it seems pretty cut and dry. You hard drive appears to be damaged, which is why your having problems formating/accessing it.
I would recommend running a hard drive test. If you not sure how, I would ask a local repair shop to run a quick test on the hard drive to confirm its bad. Most shop will do this test for free, if you get a hard drive through them. If you wanna go online and get your own hard drive, testing should be less than 30 bucks.

If this helps please rate my solution.
