No Signal on the monitor, indicates the computer isn't sending a video signal to the monitor. Does mean the monitor is working. There is no signal coming from the computer due to; A) The monitor cable may be bad. (Try using a known to be good monitor cable) B) The graphics of the computer is bad. With an eMachines it's a good bet that the computer is using Integrated Graphics, and not a dedicated graphics card. Another name for Integrated Graphics is OnBoard Graphics. On the motherBoard. The monitor cable will be plugged into a VGA connector. (The VGA connector is attached directly to the motherboard. Integrated Graphics) This is what a VGA connector looks like,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connect... ) The way to test if the Integrated Graphics is bad is to use a graphics card. C) eMachines are budget computers, meaning they are sold for less, because they use cheap quality components. Cheap components = savings for the computer manufacturer, therefore the savings(?) is passed on to the consumer. One of the cheap quality components is the Power Supply. After checking to see if the issue may be a bad monitor cable, the next step would be to check for bad graphics, or the Power Supply. My 'money', is on the Power Supply is bad. It's one of the leading causes for computer failure. Most of the time due to the inside of the computer, as well as the inside of the Power Supply, is dirty. Cheap quality component or not, dust, dirt, hair, etc., will cause computer hardware failure. (The cooling components of the computer, and power supply, drop in cooling capacity, tremendously) Do you wish to test the Power Supply? [ Know this; computer power supply's put out DC voltage. A common flashlight battery, is a good example of stored DC voltage. Computer power supply's put out three main voltages. A) 3.3 Volts {3/10ths of a volt more than two common flashlight batteries} B) 5 Volts C) 12 Volts. The voltages are SMALL. You can test with a multimeter set to the 0-50 Volt DC scale, or use a power supply tester. Example of tester,http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...] Or, you can use a KNOWN to be good power supply for a test unit. (Proper amount of power cables from power supply, and proper type, for the test unit) Be glad to explain anything I have stated, and await any questions you may have, concerning your stated problem. Just post in a Comment. Also would like the Model Number of the eMachines. Some examples: T1100, T1090, W3280, and so on. joecoolvette

Gateway FPD2275W LCD monitor lost "Red" signal of RGB display

Not really, first check your connections, normally when you loose red a pin broke off the VGA connector.

If the panel died then its probably not worth while. The red panel is however, under the most stress.

RGB No Signal Message

First you need to check the cable at both ends, inside and out. Make sure it is plugged in, to the proper connector and that there aren't any bents pins. Now put this monitor on another computer, a laptop will do. Does it come on now? If so then your video card in your machine is bad. If still bad then the monitor has lost it's signal input. This will have to be repaired by a pro. I repair these all the time and it's not as expensive as you might think.

RGB NO INPUT SIGNAL

Hi,

RGB stands for Red Green Blue. Your monitor isn't getting a video signal.

First, look behind your PC.

Pull the video plug and check the pins.

The should be three rows of them. Make sure none of them are bent over.

On the back of the PC, look at the connector socket you just pulled the plug out of. Is there another like it? (15 holes, 3 rows of 5)

If so and the original doesn't work, switch the plug to the other.

Put the plug back in and screw it in tight.

Reboot your PC.

Hope this helps,

Mike
