I actually have a Muratec M1220, but this page kept telling me it was not a valid product -- so M1250 sounds close enough. I just received this thermal fax machine, without a manual. I get message "Check Rec. Paper" when I plug it in. What does this mean?

Please Call Service means the machine "thinks" it has detected a fault.
To check do the following..
Press PROGRAM,*, 6
Then press PROGRAM to select Service Call mode, then press ENTER....the error message will be displayed in the display.
Most common error given machine age was "Heater Error".
If this is the case you will need a Serviceman to do repairs to the Fuser Unit.
IF MACHINE IS SAYING "PLEASE CALL SERVICE" 03 then it is indicating you have a fuser problem.(thats the part that warms up to melt the powder onto the paper.) Until the problem with the fuser is repaired this error code will not go away.
F-320 "Please call Service".....Press PROGRAM,*,6.....Press PROGRAM to select "Service Call"....error message will now be displayed.
Most common is #02 (Heater Error) which means you have a defective fuser.
Press PROGRAM to show any other error messages.
Press "STOP" TO EXIT.
Unfortunately that is a function of the sending unit. If they did not program their number in, then you won't have a record. If this is a persistent problem, you may want to sign up for Caller ID.
Even if they put the paper in upside down, your fax will still print a head on top of the page with the information they have programmed. If they program a wrong fax number, then all you will have is a wrong number.
