Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

1 Answer

It is time to clean or change something?

My printer has traces of the ink tonner powder on the flap of all CMYK cartridges. And when it prints, these colors are transferred onto the ‘black film looking thing that rolls’ on the door. From there the strikes of colors are pass on to the paper.
What should I do? Thank you.

Best printer I have ever owned!!!!!
In your HP toolbox Icon on desktop/start menu or typically located via web browser at: http://localhost:3910/ you can select troubleshooting tools to try using a cleaning page This has worked for me. This process cleans the paper path. You may have to run this 2 times if it is really bad.
Facts about laser printers: you need DRY paper for best print quality. laser paper is reccomended. as toner sticks to it better

Cleaning Page
Use this process to maintain optimum print quality. See the user guide for more information.
1. Click the "Print" button to print out the Cleaning Page. 2. Remove the Cleaning Page from the output bin, and load it printed side down in Tray 1. 3. Click the "Clean" button to complete the cleaning process. (Note: You may also need to press the "GO" button on the device.)

Tonner exhausted and replase tonner fw 1.18

When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter. A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

Left side of documents print very light

this could be a problem with the tonner or the configuration of ink... in both cases try with another catridge or tonner, if the problem solves then is because the cartridge or tonner no have enough ink to print
...... if the problems persists maybe could try verifing the configuration of your printer or re instaling the printer too...

Brother mfc 240c. just installed all new cartridges thinking it would fix the issue of not printing cyan and magenta. NOPE! still no traces of either color! i have ran the cleaning cycles over and over at...

Yes, you can manually clean the printhead. I can't provide step by step instructions, but the print head is the piece that your ink cartridges go into. There is probably a lever that holds it locaked into place. You will want to take out the ink, then open the lever and remove the print head. Then clean where the ink cartridges sit, then gently clean any coppor contacts you see and then clean the print nozzles on the bottom of the print head. Do all of this with distilled water. Dry completely and re-install along with your ink.

If this doesn't solve the issue, you can buy replacement print heads.

For optimum printing results change your cartridge not long after the printer is reporting low ink levels.

Error light comes on every time I boot up the printer

Hi, I had same error, printer started by saying that red cartridge was empty, and then later would not come out of error mode. My solution (something I had suspected) disconnect the power and usb lead, lift the top up and remove the main roller assy, open the cartridge access flap. With a brush and a narrow vacuum cleaner nozzle, carefully brush and **** away every bit of in powder that you see, also brush out hiiden area,s. If you drop the top down whilst the cartridge flap is open you can also turn the carrier towards you and remove wo of the cartriges. Carefully clean all the cartridges and all the areas around. Place everything back together and switch on. You may have to push the cartridge indexing button once or twice. Then if you are lucky as I am, everything is back and working correctly. My guess is that a photo cell of mechanical detector get obscured with ink dust and thus the printer cannot ascertain the fault. Best of luck, Brian

Black Lines and Very Harsh noise on a new Tonner. No printing with New tonner

Those printer tonners are very tricky to refill and a bad refill induse on bad printing so you can clean the drum (the round green thing) with isopropilic alchool. If it continues it indicates that the blade ( inside tonner plastic blade that cleans the excess tonner powder) is durty and you can clean it too with the same alchool. If it continues replace the tonner cartridge.
