SOURCE: No color

Hello Ivolvo, This problem denotes a problem with your color section of your TV. First I need to know if you have a background in electronics because if you do not it will be very difficult for you to understand what I am talking about. First you will need a schematic diagram of your TV. Then you wil need a multimeter to measure voltage and resistance. Then you will need an oscilloscope, finally a sisgnal generator (use color bars, or gated rainbow). These pieces of equipment will allow you to troubleshoot your problem. If you do not have a background in electronics, please take you set to an electronics shop for repair.

SOURCE: Dark Picture

Don't know that it's worth the money, but here's a source for a replacement inverter board (powers the fluorescent tube back light that provides 'brightness'). Manufacturer/designers of screen and back light power circuit, not Polaroid, are at fault . Screen and back light are used in equipment made by others as well, and all suffer same design deficiency :

unplug from mains, remove back cover, remove rectangular silver casing near the top.unscrew circuit board which should have TDK on it.on the underside of this you will find dry solder, just a general clean of this will be enough. done one today..

No sound from built-in DVD player on TV?

It sounds like the audio cable from the DVD drive may be loose or damaged. Did you wall mount the TV and this is when the problem started or has it always been like this? If its under warranty, contact the helpline on 0871 2000 463, be warned, if its becuase the cable is damaged by a wall mounting screw, its clearly evident and they will charge for repair.

DVD playback no playback

Sounds like the scart lead is not in straight. Scart connectors have the audio pins at one end, and the video pins at the other. If the lead isn't in straight then you often get sound and no picture and vice versa.

Check the connection by pushing the scart lead in securely. (Both DVD and TV end of the lead)

Failing that could be a dodgy lead.
