Hi, in addition to what FWilkerson has said: behind the brew group there is a sort of triangular piece of plastic with a similar shaped hole in it. It has a small drain at the bottom that can be clogged very easily. The piece is glued fairly loose to the rest of the machine. I carefully removed the part to clean it thoroughly. Its function seems to be to funnel a little waste water into the wast water tray. Of course you can also clean it by not removing it. Once removed, you can glue it back on, or as I did, leave it unglued for easier cleaning once in a while. In that case make sure it stays in place when re-inserting the brew group.

Take the brew group out from the machine and look inside the machine.espresso grinds will build up inside the area before it goes into drip tray (under distribution spout). Clean it out with a small pick and water. It is plugged up, causing water to bypass drip tray and run on counter top.

Check the little chamber under the white plastic valve behind the brew unit, that might be blocked with coffee.

Saeco vienna leaks CLEAR water from under the machine. A tiny amount of coffee makes it through to the cup

The leaking is from the water pipe coming from the boiler thought the solenoid valve to coffee group. Their are many points that this leak can be so the only way to find it is to run the machine completly open without the plastic sides. The most posible postion is the plastic hose conected on the coffee group and some times you will have to place it back in position very easy.
Good luck.

Hi there!

This is most likely a seal that has failed.

These are replaceable and sold through parts suppliers.

Have a look at these pages, then determine if it is this seal that is causing the problem, then replace it.
