Re: Windows XP installation error
I have had the same problem when the hard drive was about to die or the ram is faulty
take ram out and clean gold edges with rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser,
insert ram, if you have more than one chip try one at a time as one may be failing, ie (a bad spot on the chip and only stops the install when it gets to that location on the ram chip)
when you are running the install ,windows will ask you if you want to use the partitions on the drive
,say no and delete select partition ,this will format the hard drive and set a new one up,if the drive has problems it should show up then.

The most popular Blue Screen of Death error in Windows is the STOP
0x0000007B error, sometimes called the 0x7b error or the "INACCESSIBLE
BOOT DEVICE" BSOD.
This BSOD (which is actually the common name for a STOP Error)
could mean that there's a serious hardware problem with a hard drive
controller, a driver issue, or even a boot sector virus. In your case though, this is most likely one of 4 capacitors that are known to blow out on any SX270. Slide the bar at the back of your PC to the remove cover side and look inside for swollen caps. Remove the fans and cpu cover as well and check around there. Replace any bad ones you can find with old caps borrowed from an old motherboard if you have one, or new ones from any decent electronics parts warehouse. This fix has worked for me on every SX270 I have ever had.
There are lots of possibilities like faulty ram or may be virus in the system or may be the windows file is corrupt try to repair the windows installation. or take the backup of system and the format the system

This problem can start when you have a ram problem or the drive is about to crash.
take ram out & clean the golden edge both sides with rubbing alcohol or a pencil rubber.replace the ram
when you start the install again, do not use the partition that is on the drive now ,go for format and set up new partition, windows will check the hard drive for errors before it starts to install,
