Hello

My apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem , but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly in future.

Please download Disc Digger HERE. This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.

Once you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.

On the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do the recovery on and run the program.

The data will be displayed and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.

Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.

Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.

Kind Regards
Andrea

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

M1033 - I have 800 pictures but only want to selectively delete. The ones to be deleted are sequential...ie: 1-100 and 175-200 etc. Can I delete in blocks?

To do it this, one easy way is connected the camera at pc and delete from "explorer" software. The "block" erase files isnt avalilable in some models.

Hope helps.

it may be possible to recover those images by using this free program I have used it on a CF card with over 100 images - that suddenly did not appear - and I recovered 99 of them http://www.z-a-recovery.com/demo-ir.htm

Can't delete old pictures

It depends on the brand or model of camera you are using, but if you cant get how to delete a picture from your camera, simply get a card reader, then remove the memory card of the camera and insert it into the card reader, connect the card reader with your computer, so from your computer you will be able to delete old picture. But I still know that most digital cameras should be able to delete old pictures, simply read your camera manual to see how to delete or you tell me the model and brand of the camera that you are using.

Deleted photos on a 1gb memory card. Can they be recovered?

Yes. Google picture recovery, or file recovery software.

My pictures have disappeared on my camera!

Format erases all the files on the memory card.

You may be able to recover them using file recovery software. The first step is to remove the card from the camera. Do NOT take any more photos or do anything else with this card as it will overwrite the data where the old images were, and they will be lost forever.

Then, you need a card reader. You may have one built into your computer or printer. If you don't have a card reader for your camera's type of memory card, you can buy one at any camera or computer store, usually for less than $20.

Then you need image recover software. There are many different programs available. You can install and run the programs in a trial mode, and the program will read your card and tell you how many files it can recover. However, to actually recover the files you need to pay to register the software. Here are some links:

Can not download pictures on computer- "Communication error" showing on camera display window; camera chip 2GB with 4100 pictures. Tried using another 2GB chip with less than 100 pictures in it...

Start deleting pictures base on how good they are, importance and priority. Then by trial and error delete 50 pictures, download; 100 ... 200. Finally it download ... after 10-15 seconds wait. Total pictures deleted 1700 out of 4200. So there is a limitation on this type of camera with a 2GB chip, you have to stop taking pictures and change camera
chip when the total count reach 2500 + or - 50 pictures.
