Can I get closed captioning off without using remote

Does your cable company support CC?

You must have its remote control to close the closed captioning function.

Find a button on the tv manual control said Menu,press it. Goto tv menu find and turn off all CC1,2,3 and text 1,2,3.U should have no more closed caption.

Noway to turn off captioning right away without the original remote.But U can unplug the tv for an hour,tv well reset itself back to original setting.The Captioning will shut off buy itself.Because captioning reqiure CC buttion on orignal remote and must manually turn on and off.

Unfortunately, many sets these days do not allow you to access the closed captioning options without a remote. The good news is that universal remotes do and they are relatively cheap. When you look for a universal remote, be sure that it has a menu button on it. Expect to pay between $5-$7 for one.

If you have the original remote use the closed caption button to turn it off. Without the remote, hold down both volume buttons on the front of the tv to bring up the menu. Use the the channel and volume buttons to navigate in the menu. Select the center icon at the top of the screen. Go down to closed caption. Select OFF. Wait for menu to go away.

If you have the Suddenlink remote and the DVR box you can turn captions on or off by accessing a technical menu. To do this, press POWER and Menu buttons together (menu 2 times) to bring up a special menu. Select Closed Captions. On the popup menu select closed captions and using Select button change to OFF or ON as you wish. The trick is to get the menu to come up. Timing of pressing the two buttons is frustrating and it may take a few times befotre you get the special menu.
